Yes, I have indeed noticed the spam problem around here.
I have done some web design and I have worked with some professional sites as well, but I have never found the need to resort to spam in order to drum up business. I personally find the inevitable splay of porno keywords at the end of every shade of spam post almost more offensive than the retarded waste of time of the actual spam.
As for the age difference, I personally believe that gaming knows no age, and I can be just as excited as the next teenager (or pre-teen for that matter) about an upcoming game any day of the week. I enjoy keeping in touch with my inner child, and truly enjoy the opportunity to share my experience, wisdom, and mature perspective on things, when it can enrich the gaming experience. I think Super Mario 63 does mean more to me, and can mean more to others, when I can tell stories about seeing the first media campaigns for SMB3, and waiting eagerly to see the first glimpses of it while watching the movie
"The Wizard", or buying the SNES and the N64 when they came out, and the events surrounding Mario's newest escapades as they came out. Get me talking about the individual merits of any game, and how that relates to good game design, and you may be amazed at the volume of text that will come out of me. Plus, I tend to use my additional maturity mostly for things like stamping out flame wars, both by controlling my own temper, and helping everyone else keep a cool head. I try to be patient, helpful, practical, and reasonable, whenever possible. I have a decent cache of video game resources, both online and not, that I am more than happy to use to help answer questions, or suggest solutions. Overall, I am a gamer, and I am here to have fun just like everybody else.
Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome all, and I look forward to hanging out here.
