Just another welcome topic

Hello there, people. I've been a lurker of this place a while ago, I think I can say I'm a Mario fan, although not THAT big of a fan, since I've hardly played the newer games. I like the level designer in SM63, so I'll probably be making some levels if I had the time to be active here.
Anyway, I know SM63 has been around for years, and I've only joined now. I hope it's still active, and not forgotten (not a pun).
And no worries, I'd always read the rules when I join a new site.

Welcome to the forums. If you want to get to know a bunch of us better, you can visit our IRC here. There's usually a bunch of us active on there, but we tend to multitask, so if nobody is talking when you join, just wait a bit, conversation should pick back up.

Though I try not to reply to a topic posted within just a few minutes ago, but...

Hey. For the most part, everyone has said what there is to say, so... welcome. Definitely check out the chat. You probably know what the forums are all about, since you said you've been a long-time lurker here, but I guess if you haven't checked out all of the subforums like Media and Serious Discussion, you can usually find interesting stuff. Also, the View New Posts feature at the top of the index page is useful if you haven't found it already (I think it's only available when you're logged in).

Levels are still a huge business indeed. We've already got some nice new talents this year. Maybe you could be the next one, who knows. You're definitely not too late.

As for the rules ... the Rules topic doesn't cover all rules especially when it's about levels. So if you're interested in LDing, you should look at this in order not to do anything wrong. It sums up everything about our unwritten Level rules. (I hope the Rules topic gets an update sooner or later)

 • Single levels (in other words, topics only dedicated to your level) are to be posted in the specific Level Portal forums (SM63 and LL) and not in the Level Designer subforums or anywhere else. Always put the level code into

tags.
 • If you want to create a topic in the Level Series or Level Collections subforum, be sure to have at least three complete levels for that.
 • Try to make your levels as good as you can, and especially avoid mistakes such as cutoff, enemy spam, floating items and little effort in general. That way you'll avoid your level being deleted / disapproved.
 • Your first five levels on the Portal will have to be approved by Level Moderators. This means that you shall not post your level doubly and triply (believe it, it has been posted successfully and we'll look into it) or circumvent the approval system by posting it somewhere else, disregarding the first two rules. If you already have five approved levels or if you're posting in Level Series / Level Collections, levels can still be deleted if they don't fit the requirements.
 • If more than a week passes without your level being approved or disapproved, feel free to ask a moderator or level moderator through PM.
 • Don't post any topics about new things you'd like to see on the SM63 designer, because Runouw's only focus right now is Last Legacy.
 • All general rules also apply for commenting on the portal. Let your comments have a sense and when providing criticism, do it constructively, and especially avoid pointing out things that others have already said before. For more specific rules on how to comment on levels, view this thread.
