Gather round, everyone, and welcome to one of the biggest events this site will ever go through... the 2015 edition of the Runolympics!

My name is , and I'll be the co-host of the Runolympics 2015. However, this time around, I'm proud to announce our latest and beloved Global Moderator, , will be helping me (a lot) hold together such an ambitious challenge! More can be read in the two topics I have listed below, but the Runolympics is a series of short Runouw or Gaming-related contests or tournaments (called events) that 4 teams will have to go through in order to see which one is the best, in a manner similar to the actual Olympics (there are some differences, though, read more in the Runolympics topic).

In this topic, you will be able to sign up. In order to participate, it is greatly advised that you read the entirety of this post.

In order to understand what the Runolympics are and what you are getting into, make sure to at least check the following topics:

There is no real requirement in order to participate. Anyone may sign up, new members, veterans, staff members, normal members. However it is to be noted that this event will be rather demanding. You will be required to be ACTIVE (meaning, checking the site at least a few minutes every day). Leaving the site a week for vacation, is entirely fine (it is however advised you warn both your team and the hosts), but if you know you will extremely busy for the next few weeks, you might considering not entering. We are not asking you to stay online 24/7, but you should be able to check somewhat regularly, and even more if you are participating in an event.

Image TEAM MAKING


The teams won't be made in this topic, however, alongside the sign up, we will ask you if you want to be one of the four team makers. These four members will have the mission to create the four teams in an easy process that will be explained via PM. It is to be noted that:
  • If more than four people want to be a team maker, the four will be chosen randomly.
  • The four team makers will all be in different teams (obviously), so if someone you really want to be with is already requesting the team maker position, you might not want to be one yourself.
  • Once the teams are created, team makers will have no other privileges nor responsibilites. They will NOT necessarily be the team leaders as the decisions for each team are made by the group as a whole (unless it is decided otherwise by the team).

Here's where we will list everyone that we confirm as signed up. This will be used, once the team leaders are assigned, to put everyone in their team.

There is no maximum amount of entrants, so go right ahead!

All of my SM63 levels (except Moonlight Fireflies Forest, Frost Citadel and Silent Seabed) now use Jhynjhiruu and Forgotten's respawning.swf so make sure you are connected to the internet and use the full version!

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.
