There's not really any alternative, unless we just want to rely 100% on the forums, since most of you don't seem to go on IRC very often. Skype would be a lot more convenient, and I've found web skype to be a lot better than the actual client, honestly.
And remember, it's just text chat. If you don't want to disclose any of your personal information, you can just register an alternate email/account. It's not very difficult, and microsoft doesn't really care. I guess you can stay off of skype, but it's mostly just going to make things flow less smoothly.

Yeah. The web version works beautifully, from what I hear, and I don't care if it is your usual account or one you make just for this event. I'm trying for redundancy because we have literally seen pretty much everything go wrong that can, including the whole freaking site going down. Yes, with the lovely delay that has caused, we're now eating into the LL contest time (and I really do want to finish this before the summer is over), so let's do this. As far as I know, nobody is doing double duty on the CAH and the LL contest, so let's fast-forward this as much as possible, and if you have no issues with your rep choices, you can start the LL contest immediately (I'll have a thread up in a minute). If you have any rep issues, contact me. You have until midnight tomorrow to fix any rep problems, but the LL contest starts now.
