Image REPRESENTATIVES

!We're doing something different this time, something we've never done before...
Team Collab Pools!
This time you don't have to worry about choosing a representative. Each team can have as many members as they want work on their level, but they can only choose from their own team. At the end of the contest, one of the members must post a level in the Vault.

But remember, THIS IS AN OPEN COMPETITION!
This means the contest is not limited to these 5 reps: EVERYONE CAN ENTER!
If 6 people or more enter (which means we just need one more), normal LDC first, second and third medals will be awarded to the winner!
Also, similarly to normal LDCs, fourth place will be rewarded if we get more than 8, fifth place if we get more than 10, and 6th place if we get more than 12.

Image THEME

As always, in an LDC you have to make a level which fits certain requirements, whether it's a specific theme or certain restrictions... This time around, it is...

Spoiler: show
Image
Again? Yup. In the interests of making this stuff happen, I'm cutting some corners, including shamelessly ripping this thread off from SK, pretty much in it's entirety, including the Theme!

You guys remember this from before, right? It is basically a sort of spin-off of the 25quared contest, this version allowing more freedom. "4k" means that, instead of fitting your level in a 25x25 square...

Your level must not exceed 4000 tiles in TOTAL area.

To verify that your level fits the requirements, go to Course Info and multiply the height of your level by the width of your level. That means that even empty tiles will be counted. For example, a 200x20 level will be accepted, or a 40x100 level, or a 63x63 level (that is the largest square possible, what a nice coincidence) but not 64x64, 300x20 or anything bigger.

The theme of your level is up to you.

Image JUDGING

The levels will be judged using the normal system. Totally didn't copy this from the last LDC:
Gameplay: 10 points out of 20
This category judges how the playstyle of your level is. Is your level fun, or is it frustating? Is there something innovative in your level, or is it boring? Is it a puzzle, a story, or a platformer? If so, is it well executed?

Scenery: 5 points out of 20
This category judges the scenery of your level. Is your level beautiful, or is it really ugly? Is the decoration well placed, or are there floating items everywhere? Did you place the tiles in a beautiful way, or do they look plain boring?

Miscellaneous: 5 points out of 20
This category judges everything else about your level that was not included in the two categories above. In this category, you start with 3 points, and then the judges will add or take points for things you have done right or wrong.
Is there lag, or spam in your level? Is there too much loading time? Is there a really nice detail the judges liked about your level?

The levels will be judged by me (). If anyone EXTERIOR TO THE RUNOLYMPICS is willing to judge as well, feel free to PM me or post in this topic! I will consider your offer.

Image RULES

They are very similar to the SM63 LD Contest:
General:
  • Your level must be done specifically for the contest. Anything made before the contest won't be allowed.
  • Participants can only submit one entry.
  • Level series are allowed, but similarly, the total area taken by every level COMBINED must not exceed 4000 tiles.
  • Collaborations are allowed but are limited to two people (except for the teams) and team members can only work on their team's level.

Concerning team representatives:
  • Due to the short deadline, you are now automatically in a collab with all of your teammates. Anyone from your team can work on the level.

One more day has been added. You now have until the end of the 31st.

Submit your levels in the vault.

Last Legacy: Null Space

You have until the 31st of August, 11:59pm PST to submit your levels!

FrozenFire and me are definitely in. muhahaha

and for everyone who needs it, useful links are:

basic tutorial
detailed trigger documentation
complete ID list if you want to look up something

EDIT: It seems like the link to RC3 won't load. Not that it's a pile of error messages, but it loads forever. If you're meeting this issue, the download version can be found here.

Supershroom. Have I told you lately that you're awesome. I'm totally gonna get all Wiki on that as soon as the RO is over. I still have to get the two wikis working together to boot.

Nice. I have a few ideas. I don't think they are award-winning though.
