Image BASIC INFO

Doram rubs his hands together in evil glee...
It's time for the Forum Hunt! Get ready for a serious challenge. 40 prize codes spread over all of Runouw's properties (Yes, you will be scouring some wikis...), and best of all: There's layers to this onion! Each prize code that you find will be clues to more codes! I've pulled out all the stops, too. There's stuff hidden in smilies, user profiles, BBCode... This is gonna be fun! See if you can find all 40 codes!!

You will know a prize code because it will be a random 6+ digit number followed by one or more words (these are the actual things you will be chasing). with your list when you've found them all, or if you haven't found them all, send what you've got before the deadline. (And if you're doing this on a tablet, phone, or other touch device, give me a pm.)

If nobody has found all 40 by the time we have 12 hours left, I might just sprinkle a few more clues in here. Otherwise,
We DO have our first 40 in, and at least one other team tantalizingly close, but giving these hints is so much fun, and you guys do still need help, so I'm going ahead with the hint rush anyways. Starting at 12:00PM PST, and every hour until the deadline at 11:59PM PST, I will drop one SERIOUS clue. I'll be almost handing this stuff at the beginning, and really handing it to you by the end. That means placing at this point will be as much about being here as it is about figuring this stuff out as fast as you can. Remember, for full lists, placement is merely by timestamp on your PM. Get your lists together, sitting in Notepad, ready to paste into a PM at a moment's notice. Get your gamer's reflexes ready and put your thinking cap on. The Rush starts in 4 and a half hours!
~Doram 7:30AM PSTAnd Supershroom, nice try guilting me on time-zone fairness, but I know full well that MoD is on your team who LIVES in PST. No early rush for you. ;P

This is your first clue (which actually gives you 2 clues - one for a code, and for more clues):

!Threads, profiles, smilies... There's suddenly secrets everywhere, but it's going to take a lot to really crack this event open. It's a code so tough, Voldemort would appreciate it, though I won't be as unfair with my riddles as Bilbo Baggins was. You can just leave it all in lowercase and run it all together, but be specific and thorough.
The last sentence is literal advice.

Image RULES

General:
  • There is one very simple rule: Do not post what you have found. For all teams, keep your conversation to RO Team Forums, PMs, or off-site (so, private chat room on IRC, or Skype would be good too).
Concerning team representatives:
  • For the Runolympics Teams, this will be a matter of completion first and timing second. If none of you find all 40, then it will be by order of who found the most (with tie-breakers being by timestamp). If all 5 teams find all 40 codes, then it will simply be a matter of who PMed me first. Any mix will also follow this pattern (full 40s by timestamp, and remainder by codecount).
  • You are working as a team, so you may discuss the clues and puzzles in your forums. Any staff is hereby requested to not use your powers to find information. I have scrubbed my trail, but it is still technically an unfair advantage.

You have until the 4th of September, 11:59pm PST to submit your list!

Two questions.

1) There can also be secrets on the LL site or the LL wiki, amirite?
2) How can there be a secret in a smilie, or a BBcode? Some further explanation on that would be nice.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

I don't think there could be any on the LL forums since Doram's not a glomo there, but I guess I'm not running the event, so

Nope. You raise a good point.
!No, I do not have anything hidden on the LL site general, or the LL forum.

And, while people are coaxing clues from me (*Doram glares at Raz*) I might as well share.

!There are 3 codes that you get from the smilies, and they are actually hidden in the tooltip for the smilie (the text that pops up when you hover the mouse over the smilie). If you are on a touch screen and cannot hover, pm me.

!Also, don't worry about the Runouw wiki codes being duplicated. The way I hid them is not in the page, but on a template that the page uses, so they will pop up in every page that uses that template.

(I figured the wiki ones would be the easiest to find, but I wanted you to work a little...)

Well I'm excited for this. But I do have school not counting weekends, so if this is on a weekend I can go searching for the entire time.
Might be ready in a bit.

Nope. Ends Friday night. This was originally supposed to take 2 days with no school, and I've almost doubled that, now that school has started for most people.

EDIT: Ok, checked everyone's progress, and I wanted to clear something up, and this will be the last clue today...

!Though the forum tricked ME, and revealed the end of the little over puzzle early, the big over puzzle still awaits. Many mini puzzles build into the two big ones. The prize for the little over puzzle in the Twisted smilie was supposed to come from a specific code. You can earn a bonus point if you still figure out the little over puzzle (Except for Raz). And for those struggling, all of the mini-puzzles come in sets of 3, 5, and 10.Hoho. You're thinking tricky. Good job. Here's a bonus hint: one mini puzzle is actually made up of 2 mini puzzles. But then again, I figured the wikis would be the easiest part...

Also, congrats on Ven figuring out the first mini puzzle, and Kaboom for finding the first Hard code.

If you have a code on your profile, it's kind of common courtesy not to remove it until the event is over.
yeah you i'm talking to you

Ok, LAST hint of the night.

!There IS stuff in hidden forums, but, except for Crack the Code, there is nothing in any locked forum.

Oh, there's stuff hidden around here in hide codes?!?! Yup. Look again.
