When the hunt was going on, you were able to see Forum 32 after entering the password tommarvoloriddletheonering, but honestly there was nothing on going there except more codes being available as well as the Secret Password topic. It's not the FoA. The teams who got there were able to write a bit of Runouw history by posting in this forum. Now the password is back again to a weird mishmash of letters and numbers.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

Now I have a question. Although our team did find all the codes, a lot of it was guesswork at one point and wasn't in the same neat, organised order that Crystal Clods followed. So I'm interested about the thread codes. Was there supposed to be a pattern to be able to find which threads they were hidden in, or was it purely just to search the forum topics until you found them?

In the end, that's pretty much all I did, I just went through the first 3 pages of every front page topic until I found 10 codes. But if there was another, easier way of retrieving them, I'd like to know.

Dude holy ♥♥♥♥ the thread codes were so much fun. We were mostly just brute-force searching and digging through threads for them at first, until we realized that the number at the end of each word was from the Fibonacci sequence, and then organized the list in order by forum. The subforum for each number going down the index page was (for the most part) in order. So we were mostly searching for stuff in specific subforums with things like a 5 at the end, or a 13, or whatever. It was probably the most well-thought out puzzle of all of them.

A lot of our guesses were also brute force and the others we found due to Doram's hints (for the longest time we couldn't figure out the password to Crack the Code etc.). We also found some codes before the hints that were pointing to them (:marvolo: before getting into CtC, same with :runolympics:). And in the end we didn't find all the forum codes, though I have to give it to Doram, hints were great, I was just too unobservant :P

Yeah. I did try to be fairly straightforward with the thread codes, and go in order down the main index. I was not going for impossible level difficulty on this, and that affected a lot of the decisions I made. The Fibonacci and the Hubble puzzles were the first ones I made, and the ones that I put the most thought into. (All of the starry clues, are actually things that Hubble is famous for: research into the big bang through pictures taken of galaxies at the edge of the universe, and better understanding of star life-cycles through studies of stellar nurseries/nebulae.) Then trying to come up with set size groupings for divvying up the remaining codes became my biggest puzzle, for all the different types of hidey-holes I wanted to implement, like the smilies. I had planned different stuff for the BBCodes, but then I ended up having to do the code for the passwords through a BBCode, and ran out of time while figuring that out.

This was the list I worked with. A number of the ones with pound signs in front of them were in place well before the contest started:
