Anyway, looks like we still have 6 codes to find before we can get in to CtC and get the last five? We're really close.

Latest Doram posts. Only one hide tag, but still.

Doram wrote:Here's another nudge...

!You can take this one literal, like the private one I gave to you. Your best tool here is organization. Literally write it all down together and have notes as to how things connect. Every clue I have given thus far is an answer to a question someone was asking about all of this, whether you knew to ask or not. Sometimes a clue that was a total revelation for someone else, merely removes a possibility for you, but they all do fit together and point in the same direction - that lovely round 40.

[hide]And, a further nudge for Crack the Code. Both halves of the clue refer to riddles that those characters made, and specifically, either the starting place, or the finishing place for those riddles.[hide]

Oh, and Supershroom, us Glomos can reset the password to the Crack the Code Forum, which is what I did for the contest. It may have been a mishmash of characters before, but it's words now as it is one of my puzzles.

Doram wrote:
!No, there are at least 5 prize codes (that are part of the 40 total) that can only be found in the Crack the Code forum, as well as more hints for what lies outside, but the password that you will use to enter the forum is NOT a prize code. Just a password. All of the solutions to these puzzles are something that hides a prize, but some puzzles are layers deep.

Doram wrote:XD Ok, here's another literal one in case people haven't figured it out.

!There's more clues in hide codes, mostly in my posts. Look harder.

I think the most important part was this: "And, a further nudge for Crack the Code. Both halves of the clue refer to riddles that those characters made, and specifically, either the starting place, or the finishing place for those riddles."

Honestly, I don't know much at all about Harry Potter or LOTR stuff, so you guys are probably going to have to help with that. We've already figured out that the riddles he's referencing are most likely "I am Lord Voldemort/Tom Marvolo Riddle" and "What's in my pocket?", but what does he mean by the starting or finishing place for those riddles?

It looks like if we figure that out, then we'll be able to solve the Crack That Code password. (which he said should be all lowercase and strung together, and is NOT found in any of the codes themselves)

EDIT: New hide tag with what appears to be a gigantic ♥♥♥♥ hint
Doram wrote:That's right. I've won smartest user here before, and then I get to design a forum hunt? This ain't gonna be straightforward, my friends.

And, Supershroom has complained that I'm speaking in riddles. That's the point! Besides, I have already given 10 times the hints I originally planned to. You just need to put it all together. This is solveable, guys, and before the deadline. And if you aren't there before the deadline comes, you will want to be here Friday night. Friday is the last day of the hunt, and starting at noon PST, I will be dropping one serious clue every hour until I get the first list of all 40 codes.

[hide]And one last hint today, in case you STILL need help with the Crack the Code: it's 6 words, 3 from each half of the clue.[hide]

EDIT2: Another one, except I think we've already discovered this:

And, since Shroom asked for a custom hint and got one, everybody gets a custom hint.

!Well, congrats on getting into the Crack the Code. I was just going to give you another nudge for that, when I saw you got in, so here's a hint for something else you haven't figured out:
On the profiles, the current staff all talk about space, and the others do not. What are the others referring to? Also, I did give you a complete hint on the Wikis puzzle, you just skipped the first few words.

Update the codes post to say 30/40 31/40 codes have been found (holy ♥♥♥♥ guys we're 75% done).

"camera", "orbit", and "picture" appear to be the codes from former staff, though suyo is still technically staff which would restrict the list to only "camera" and "orbit".

Also, here are links to the CtC threads, for convenience:

EDIT: AAAAND one more code
Doram wrote:Nice! You figured one of the puzzles out. Here are some more clues:

!Some of these puzzles point to new clues, sometimes to the final entry in their own set.

!A few of the puzzles point at secret passwords that you can enter in this thread.

And, since you made it this far, here's a code: 6400223of

If you want, leave your mark on site history while you have the chance, and post once in this thread. The password to Crack the Code WILL change again once this event is over.
[hide]Hah! Didn't think I'd put 2 codes in one place, eh? WRONG! Here ya go: 3153946it's[hide]

Also, every team member, feel free to pop into CtC and make a post in that thread. You've earned it.

And check EVERY post of mine, at least in this thread.

EDIT: ...and Success! As of September 3rd, 2015, 1:03 pm, The Crystal Clods have made it into the Crack the Code forum!

EDIT2: And... one more hint...

!For those still pondering the wikis puzzle, the answer will be important when you get inside Crack the Code, but until then, here's some more math: 5 words become 1, plus the last word that doesn't fit, plus one more to be specific = your pass to another prize

Also, looks like Ven updated his post with a bunch of new codes from F37 (Hidden Forums) and CtC/F32 (Crack That Code) and some from the secret box, too.

Yes, congrats. That smilie was the HARDEST code in the bunch, because NOTHING pointed to it. You just had to sit there and play with it. I was wondering if anyone would get it before I started dropping serious hints at the end. EXCELLENT job, everyone.

Just because (and so that people can see that we're not just pulling ♥♥♥♥ out of thin air here when these subforums are made public), here are our chat logs (or at least the chat logs that I have) from the Forum Hunt: http://pastebin.com/6btHdiw8
