So I don't want to post anything too long but

I wouldn't mind being stricter if we had a userbase large enough.
However, we don't, so its really simple to handle users individually. Ultimately, this is the reason that I at least personally don't give punishments out often.

I agree that the site is stagnate right now, and that's not good. Its cool that we have events and stuff, but we have a lot of housekeeping that not enough of us, myself included, have cared enough about, like the wiki and faq. Rules need to be updated and maintained, even if its only a guideline right now. Rankings should be kept up to date as well.

That said, I've been computerless for a week, which ironically has made me pay more attention to this. I also did a lot of non game things during this time, meaning I might still be in a housekeeping mood when I'm back for real. I'll probably post some productive discussion starters, since this really hasn't gone anywhere, so until then please dont kill each othern heh

I don't want to argue here. But seeing as me and Doram are basically in charge when it comes to this kind of thing then I need to give my input on this.

Firstly, I agree whole-heartedly with you BY. I don't know exactly what sparked you to make this post (a PM apparently) but it's relevant, very relevant and very helpful, to the recent level mod discussions we've been having. And it gives me a lot to consider now.

Secondly, Shroom, hopefully over the time you've been on the forums you've noticed that I'm not someone who will hold people's mistakes against them. I've been angry at you, I've been frustrated with you, I've even banned you, but even through all that I've seen someone who in reality is just very eager to help people get better and improve. The problem is, maybe it's just who you are and a part of your personality, but the way you express to us about your ideal 'dealings' with certain situations are just inappropriate. We have tirelessly tried over and over to help you to overcome this, and believe me, this is not something we have wanted to do a lot - it's not usually in our interests to give potential moderators constructive criticism on how to be a better moderator, before they are even guaranteed a spot, especially not when someone is actively following us up about it. We've been extremely patient with you (or at least I have), so I just can't understand where this idea of bad treatment is coming from.

If you feel that strongly about the idea that we've treated you unfairly in any way, then haven't you considered that the way you've tried to take control over our jobs, jobs that don't belong to you, or your lack of trust in us to do it well enough ourselves etc, is quite unfair to us too?

I don't know how many times I've had to repeat this, and tbh I don't think I can repeat it again. You know what I'm saying, and maybe you need to work out for yourself what to do now. You also know that constantly arguing is not going to get you anywhere, you're a smart person, I think you know deep down what you're lacking and maybe you just need to learn to improve upon that. But we can't help you any longer if this is the way you retaliate every time you don't like something.

EDIT: Once again, we have arrived at telling me how I should have done my job. This is not about what happened almost a year ago, about a decision that not just me, but the rest of the moderating team agreed on. Yes, I dealt the ban, that does not mean I chose to do it alone.

And anyway, without dwelling on the past now; if multiple topics, PMs and chances from the mods are still not going to sink in, then I'm not going to spend anymore time on this topic. What you do now is up to you and we're not going to help you, or slip you hints and extra chances. Maybe that's the way you will become more mature through all this, and at least then if you get a promotion after all that, you will feel like you've earned it rather than had it handed to you on a silver platter.

I will say one thing, and one thing only.

Unless you have held any position of power, have been given a responsibility beyond that of brushing your teeth or making your bed, or have held a job where you are depended on, please do not question how moderators do their job.

There was a reason I resigned as a level mod anyway, and it was because I didn't trust myself with the power I had.

Let's also not forget what happened to worst_master when he had the same attitude towards staff.

lol I really wonder how you can compare me with W_m ... he probably just kept arguing for the sake of arguing instead of following clear goals, and the reasons for his perma were rather flaming (heavy flaming, not just telling bad news) and doing ♥♥♥♥ in the Anti-MoD group ...

And about Star king. On one side, sincere respect for outing yourself. But still, it means that you've run away without telling anyone, leaving Doram alone with RO and leaving us worrying about what happened with you. You won't solve problems by pushing them aside. Being an insulted liverwurst gets you nowhere, and especially it's you and only you who decides how you deal with situations, so don't put any blame on me for you leaving. Even more, the constant bullying I had to experience, and the constant fear of unjust punishments, would be more than enough to chase me away from the site if I wasn't the unbreakable knight I am.

MP3 Amplifier wrote:I've been angry at you, I've been frustrated with you, I've even banned you

Yes. The ban. Not only it was a harsh decision from you, but if you're really convinced that your ban was covered by the rules, you should also have banned others for the exact same reason, sooner or later. This was a very unilateral treatment and it was a very traumatizing experience. It might have been a short-term pacification but in the long term it only made things worse, and it caused a lasting breach of trust.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

you have caused a major conflict, and continue to assess that it is everyone else's actions and not yours

if you care so much about being logical through this whole process, maybe you'd realise that you stopping would be a lot more efficient and quick than every single other person stopping (this of course presumes you're not working towards explicitly causing conflict)

Sorry to butt in again but I feel like this needs to be said.

Shroom, the trend here is that you seem to refuse to take responsibility for anything and you're consistently questioning or downright insulting the moderators. You don't seem to get that you need to take some responsibility here, and stop with these over-dramatic arguments. I don't know how many times you need to be told it, but it's getting ridiculous at this point.

Karyete wrote:downright insulting the moderators

Literally where, except if you wanna use the words "insult / attack" and "critique" synonymously, which I seriously hope you don't.

Emelia K. Fletcher wrote:you have caused a major conflict, and continue to assess that it is everyone else's actions and not yours

Now hold on. It seems like I really have to teach everybody of you that bringing up a subject, no matter how delicate it is, is not a conflict already.
I bring up subjects for the sake of improvement, fairness and justice (whether it's mostly for me or for others, doesn't matter), and you change it to the opposite with your words and attitudes. It was this scheme in almost all of the past "conflicts" and it is again here (http://runouw.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=49508#p343978 plus the two posts below).

To put it blunt, I've been concerned often enough with my actions, and with the things that happened, even if I wasn't really at a fault, while you (preciselier: some of you) didn't, or at least hardly did. And at this point I'm not willing to do this anymore until you also do it and stop fueling aggressive arguments, without ever thinking of the mistakes of your behaviour. You are not guiltless. And if you don't think of what you have done wrong, don't except the same from me. If you request me to be civil, be civil. If you request me to hold temper, hold yours. If you request me to show maturity, be mature. One doesn't work without the other. Excuse me but is that so hard to understand?

If none of you want to positively contribute too this discussion, so be it.

EDIT: Now then. Please continue.

Now that I have ample time, allow me to explain why I locked this thread.

1. I felt that the conversation had devolved too much. However, I did not mean to devalue any of the carefully articulated posts; I should have explained that, but because of this technological handicap and a college orientation that I was simultaneously attending, I could not. I apologize.
2. I wanted to deal with these decisions myself. I even asked my fellow staff to hold off on decisions until I was home. I did not want the situation to escalate any further and increase the amount of punishments to give, nor the severiry of them. Every staff action regarding this thread was carried out by me and me alone. They of course gave input, but I had my mind set and they respected that.

So, apologies if this confused any of you.
