Story Portal Ideas

So, the GWJH topic only announced the release of the Story Portal. Website Suggestions probably don't count. (Lock this and forgive me if it does.) So... here we are.

Suggestions?

Right now, I think that everyone demands an edit function.

Yes, an edit button is imperative.

Another idea is to have a setting to create a prologue and epilogue (like as checkboxes or a drop-down list), but keep it optional.

If we don't get an edit button, at least give us the option to replace a chapter. Like, give us a drop down on which chapter we want, it lists off all the previous chapters, and the one that would come after so you can still add more.

JSX's idea is good. Also, the idea to delete our own chapters is good.

One last thought is this: If someone has several chapters on their story that mods have accepted (say 5 chapters), then the user should be able to submit future chapters without needing approval from a mod. The mods can delete the chapters anyway, so really what's the use of having to approve them after so many chapters have been submitted?

Sort options, like on the level portal. And eventually, a search option will be necessary.

A follow button. You can then be notified if a new chapter has been released. or edited if that ever happens

I really think more BBCode tags need to be supported, like Underline, Spoiler, Inline Spoiler (puts a black blind over the words), and lots more.

I agree with MK. also maybe size and fonts..?



This is kind of like SM63C's idea, but anyway... Maybe a genre selector should come up when you decide to make a new story. and if the edit function ever comes in, the genre should be able to be changed. And multiple genres should be able to be selected. It'd work a bit like tags on Youtube and stuffs.

Genres like:
Adventure
Comedy
Fanfiction
Fanfic Crossover
Horror
Mystery
Off-Topic/Random
etc...
