). This description of the Cookie medal provided by Suyo pretty much summarizes the dos and don'ts of nominating someone for the medal. But, generally speaking, any member that does something worth praising them for can qualify for the medal. For example, take a look at Doram's post earlier in this topic. Additionally, a reason for nomination can be, "For being the Best Level Designer EVER, a good friend, LP tester just like me, and I know I'm a bit late, but happy first year on this site! You get double cookies if I can" (quote taken from Star King's Cookie medal; nominated by Luigi Fan 64). So, obviously, there are many reasons (infinite, in fact) why a member could be nominated for a Cookie medal. Just keep your eye open for anyone who deserves it. 
As for the Events Medals, they're only given on special occasion and the only ones handed out so far were for contests exclusive to our Halloween forum back in October. Who knows? We might do the same thing again this year. Though I do think we need more events rolling out if there's any sense in keeping this medal--I'd recommend the Art Contest if it could just learn to stay alive!
