Would it be so hard to add a "See posts in the last X Hours" function to the advanced search thingamajigger? Cuz, the "View New Posts" thing is really useful, but it keeps resetting itself at seemingly random intervals, which is really REALLY annoying.

Would be very useless because search results are stored in the cache for 5 hours in order to keep the load on the server down.
If you tell me what you exactly mean by "being reset" I might help

I go to the main page. Click on new posts. Weee, awesome 8 page list so I can surf through the newest posts.

Days pass. Now, there's only one page of the newest ones. Disappointed, but okay.

An hour goes by. I click on new posts...and it's reset again. I'm like WTF, the last time it took like a week to reset.

Seemingly random intervals.

EDIT: Wait, I don't think you know what I meant.

I didn't mean to be able to specify the hours that your search results are posted, I meant a function to see like, ALL posts made in the last, I dunno, 24 hours. As an alternative to the new posts function, which is just plain wack.

The "New Posts" search displays all posts since you logged in the last time. That means it's reset every time you log out and in, it is reset.

I know what you mean with "last 24 hours", but due to the cache you wouldn't see new posts after the search, you would need to wait for the cache to expire. It's already possible, though. search.php?keywords=*&terms=any&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=1&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

Thing is, I always set it to "Log me in every time" and never, NEVER push the logout button, and it still randomly logs me out.

But d'aw well, I guess I'll just make due with what I have.
