If you've tried the Katamari exploit before (where you have a Katamari ball on your webpage), you'll know you enter code into the URL bar and press Enter. The same thing applies to HTML, except it doesn't execute anything, it shows it.

Like, typing <h1>Header!</h1> would put the word 'Header!' in big and bold font. The browser just reads the URL, finds HTML in it, and decides to show it.

I know some HTML. And I'm actually learning HTML 4 instead of HTML 5. I do plan to learn HTML 5 later, though. I'm also gonna learn JavaScript. Probably some other website-making languages too. And the way I'm learning it, it's <img src="image source">, without the slash at the end. I also know about <h1>. And <h2>, <h3>, <h4>, <h5> and <h6>. I also know about <marquee>. I also know about <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C/DTD HTML 5.0//EN" "http://www.w3c.org/TR/REC-html40/strict.dtd">. I also know about- *is shot* Anyways, happy birthday again, Suyo, p.k.a. (previously known as) SuperYoshi, o.h.k.a. (on Halloween known as) Spook-Yo.

In regular HTML, this is right. If you are using the current XHTML standard though, it's ended with />, as it's an empty tag and thus, to conform to XML standards, the tag must be closed this way.

Meh, XHTML is just basically HTML except stricter, and XML is quite different (and much harder, if I remember). It's good to just learn XHTML from the start, instead of learning HTML and then formatting things to conform to XHTML standards.

Do you know what XML is?

I use HTML Code for some of the features on my forum.

My dad does Programming for a living though, hopefully he'll teach me to make some codes of my own :P

Wikipedia wrote:Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a set of rules for encoding documents in machine-readable form. It is defined in the XML 1.0 Specification[4] produced by the W3C, and several other related specifications, all gratis open standards.[5]

The design goals of XML emphasize simplicity, generality, and usability over the Internet.[6] It is a textual data format with strong support via Unicode for the languages of the world. Although the design of XML focuses on documents, it is widely used for the representation of arbitrary data structures, for example in web services.

Many application programming interfaces (APIs) have been developed that software developers use to process XML data, and several schema systems exist to aid in the definition of XML-based languages.

As of 2009, hundreds of XML-based languages have been developed,[7] including RSS, Atom, SOAP, and XHTML. XML-based formats have become the default for many office-productivity tools, including Microsoft Office (Office Open XML), OpenOffice.org (OpenDocument), and Apple's iWork.[8]

This topic was for Suyo's birthday, not for talking about XMl, HTML, XHTML, MLXHMLTLMTX.
