Well, y'all know who I am now, so now for God's Critique:

I think that actually, things were pretty good. The only thing was that in Emergency Mode, it probably would've been better if people had been able to see the reply, report, quote and other buttons. The background color and whatnot still made it feel appropriately "Emergency-esque" without causing the functionality of the forums to be lost.

As for those who were put off by the joke, Suyo is largely right. To those who may have been offended by some of what I was doing, it was meant to be humorous. By no means do I wish to offend religious people here; I myself am Jewish. To some extent I was mocking the intolerance by some religious groups when interpreting religious doctrine (Westboro Baptist Church, for example), but it was not meant to be critical of religion in general. The tongue-in-cheek nature of my role should have been obvious based on things like my description of Super Mario 63 and my rules for the Portal forum. And yes, you were all supposed to turn against me; I was supposed to be as bad as AniLo, and then the ending parts would have happened. But you were not supposed to take it so seriously.

Ah well. I had fun anyway. And Star King, your sigs and avatar were absolutely fantastic. If I wasn't in character, I would've commented on them early, but I loved how involved you were getting.

Yeah... :P

I really liked the idea of someone taking over the site, and I wished it could have continued without getting too far. No really, I liked the idea, that's why I got involved. But you overdid it a bit.

Was fun :P

(by the way, maybe a reason why I reacted that way, is because I actual thought of a forum story with some member taking over the site. Not the City, the site. It was supposed to be in real life. So I felt like my story was actually happening) :awe:

I found it quite annoying, but there were a few good jokes here and there. While I have no idea who AniLo is, I guess it was still chuckle worthy.

Though, we didn't need God or anything like that. In my opinion, that was a little bit too far.

At least you guys took the time to plan it out thoroughly. But next time, leave out the weird stuff. Since I'm still fairly new, I had a hard time navigating the forums.

Things I liked:
  • The Anti-AniLo Revolution
  • The Holy SM63 and Lame Levels title

Things I dislike:
  • Introduction of God
  • Emergency Mode
  • The little game with find the code
  • Banning some members
  • The "Grow facial hair MP3, it makes you less lame" was cruel
  • Screenshot proofs were poor

Actually most things were relativly/very good.

But I hated that Emergency Mode hid so much stuff and that some people took the joke to serious.

Well, you'll have to forgive me for thinking that anyone who felt the joke had been taken too far is being a bit ridiculous. Which, doesn't make sense to me to begin with. I mean, I'd imagine that the amount of chaos that had occured yesterday (and the days preceding) would have been obvious enough that it is indeed an April Fools prank. I'm still having a tad trouble following the whole premise here but bear with me.

So, I've looked through the posts in this topic, heard a few things in chat, and took a glance at that one topic where Suyo is allegedly pissed off, and have come to my own conclusion. This year's April Fools prank was actually quite impressive, what with AniLo and God reigning over our forums, the eye-bleeding Emergency Mode, the banning of members, and the abundant level of care and coordination that the Staff members put into arranging everything. Indeed, things were quite extreme this year, and it was awesome. You deserve an applause, and so here's something that I happily ripped from one of Suyo's posts:

Did people really have a problem with all this? That's a shame. I thought the way the Staff handled everything was superb. Seems things didn't end exactly the way we all hoped they would, but I know people will remember this for quite some time (and in fact, I'd suggest MoD add it to his timeline if he's ever up to it). It was entirely worth the effort. Good job peeps.

Sidenote: I actually hated Emergency Mode as well, but that's nothing against the prank itself. The whole layout was a just a bit annoying, and so I didn't bother posting at all yesterday. :blab:

Well, considering this was the only April Fools' prank for this year (excluding my little try-hard of a prank...) it was actually done kinda well. I didn't enjoy it that much, to be completely honest. But after finding out who was actually involved in all this, I'm impressed. I could have sworn Moy did the whole thing.

And I really respect you guys for trying this. It was creative and a bit hectic. And to those people who didn't like it because they are "atheist" or didn't like the role of "God"... vvv

So, even though I didn't exactly like it, it was done well. It even fooled a couple people which made me laugh (because it's obvious that this was an April Fools' joke)

Well done.

It's a shame the topics were deleted actually, because the topics themselves were pretty down right wasom. We could've just deleted the negative posts and then been left with all the great memories of it. ;)

Overall?

I think you guys deserve cookies for this joke. It might have annoyed or offended others, but it was pulled off with perfection!

That's all I really have to say. Except not very eye-bleeding, just hard to use.
