A way to prevent Spam Bots from Entering this Forum

Postby PuppetOfMisery » March 19th, 2010, 12:05 pm

Hey I just found a Solution to prevent Spam Bots from Registering to this forum.

To do it, add in the Registeration Page: Are you Human?

It is required to tick the box. When a Bot tries to register, it is a rare chance for the Bot to tick it.

The confirmation code is suppose to have the same effect. I doubt that a little check mark would slow them down.

This would work.

Why? Spam Bots just fill out everything that's on a normal phpBB installation. This isn't.

Mcleodgaming has this solution.

Sadly, they still get spammers all the time. Spammers find a way around it.

We get human spammers as well.

Well, if Runouw wants to do it, he can. It will minimize the effect of spam bots, but it won't rid of the spam problem overall.

Or we could just use this. ^^^^
And you have to fill in the box or the spambot cant complete the register.

EDIT: I know the refresh button doesnt work, But the mods could figure something out
