That's the job of the user reps, nan.

First of all, KevinOC 4 User Rep 2013.

Second of all, if you wanted to hear our opinions on the overhaul, you should have begun to carry it out while we were voicing complaints about it. A bunch of people said that they didn't want Honorary Members to be demoted, but the GloMods went through with it. A lot of people thought that new rules were not too necessary, but the staff has decided to adopt them anyways. Tsu was complaining about the medals and apparently that was a thing? Idk. Someone's probably just gonna respond with how they're sick of all the complaining.

EDIT: Alright, Tsu just PMed me saying that the medal thing was supposed to be a secret. No, I won't edit it out, because it's another example of doing things under the general userbase's noses. It's kind of silly to be so secretive about a bunch of profile stickers on an Internet forum.

Even though I'm afraid of getting in trouble for it, I agree completely.

EDIT: Even though I don't want to, I must defend Suyo. Suyo wants to keep the whole thing a secret. As in a surprise, like a surprise party. That's sorta the whole point of keeping it under the general userbase's nose. I still wish my opinions for it would actually be payed attention to more, or my opinions in general.

Thank you for your shaman words, Tsu.
Sorry if I was a bit oblique but I just want to make a point in saying that it's good to communicate with the people you watch over. Maybe the User Reps could start using the Site Discussion board as a bit of a basis for that or something. It's better to get the forum in shape now than later if it becomes popular from LL's full release.

Even if we do leak information into Site Discussion, who gets to decide what should be kept secret and what shouldn't? Yeah, there's topics that are obviously too controversial, but when does the grey area start, or end? If 8 URs just use their own judgement it's not likely to match up all that nicely at all.

Edit: Kevin probably would make a great staff member. Said it before but I'm saying it again now.

Yet at the same time, a lot people agreed with us as well. I can only speak for my own understanding, but nothing was set in stone yet. The rules have.not officially changed yet. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11

Moved to Site Discussion as this is completely Site related.

As what has been posted before, the reason we posted the cleanup was to get your opinions to see what could be changed. The rules were meant to be a more coherent rewrite of what is currently there. We had had comments before about how the rules were unclear and sometimes confusing, so we choose to rewrite them to a better standard.

The group cleanup was because we had many groups without sufficient use. Wiki mods, story mods had very little activity from members so those were decided to be removed.

I was the strongest against Honarary Members. It had come to the point where there were quite a few Honorary Members so we actually had yellow names all over the place, and it was decided that a colour change might be necessary - namely the regular colour but bold. The problem with this is that it causes confusion and we would get people wondering why some users were bold, and some not.

Buffooner - F23 wrote:As for Honarary Members, yeah, lets get rid of them. It really doesn't matter whether or not they used to be staff, and frankly it makes them out to be more important than they actually are. The least we could do is make sure they have a regular colour even if we don't get rid of the group.

I think my point still stands here. Coloured names give the impression that you're staff, even if you're not. I don't think we got non-bold groups working as we decided later on that staff medal and wiki should be sufficient enough to remember someone.

URs can access all forums, but discussion does kinda end up between 3-4 people with some URs only occasionally posting. You are, at least right now, top of the list for URs SuYo. That wasn't mentioned in the cleanup as it wasn't seen as that important right away when lemons were going to have some staff changed. Sk is back now.. so that may not even happen. :/

I have been arguing for an LL LDC since January - before the 23rd LDC had even been posted - because I thought that it would be best to generate hype and excitement around it as it had been recently released. Obviously I was in the minority there, and it was decided that there should be an update first before doing an LL LDC.

And guys, if there's something you want addressing, like this, feel free to keep posting in Site Discussion. We do actually listen.

So, you say you listen when we post in Site Discussion - make it evident that you often listen to most things said. Most often, it is average users complaining about things that it appears mods never regard and seem to not give a ♥♥♥♥. And you say that you posted the cleanup to see what we think you should change - if that's the case, why did it just show up with things already being set in stone, regardless of user opinions. The forum is being far too controlled by the mods alone, and the userbase is having near to none, if any in the first place, opinions being accepted.

Since that was posted as well, the mods are suddenly being far too serious - you yourself, Buff, suddenly decided the signatures that Raz and Sk have had for quite some time were too big, only just after this - why now? Is it all of sudden to large for the limit that no one gave any ♥♥♥♥ about, and was completely disregarded due to how pointless it is?

Things are also not being told to us users. Again, you came in to saying these things are pretty much set in stone, and even though you've claimed that it was to get our opinions, they were, as usual, completely disregarded. URs don't exactly seem to be getting much say either - if I was asked to be a UR now, I would only say yes to see how much my opinions will still get disregarded - as it is now, and it seems always will be if this keeps up.

It's time to change, people. Not the way the overhaul has said, but a way where everyone gets involved, the users are listened to and everyone gets an opinion.
