With Suyo's new medal system implemented now, perhaps we should expand upon it with medals for other tasks.

Things that are forum specific, perhaps (make X posts in Y topics) or for being really involved in certain areas outside of SM63/LL (like involvement in the Runouw Playlist), or for gaining access to secret forums (FoA achievement, anyone?) or even something like getting X number of members to admit that you're a pretty cool guy (this is easy enough to do with polls in FoA too).

You know, more like actual videogame achievements, that don't focus solely on one aspect of the game. It was originally Chau's idea but I think it was a pretty awesome one... so maybe post the name of any proposed achievements below, along with a description and maybe the art for it, and see what happens from there.

An achievement for starting a minecraft server on the forum.

1) Receiving a certain amount of thumbs-up.
2) Getting involved with WITBLO because of an awesome level you made.
3) A topic you made receiving a certain amount of replies. (I guess that's a bit pointless, maybe.)

• An achievement for getting high rated levels. You should get awards for quality of levels rather than quantity.
• Story achievements might give people more of an incentive to write stories.
• An achievement for participating in a certain amount of contests will give people more of an incentive to join them.
• Awards for having a certain number of posts, maybe replacing ranks (and don't worry, this won't give anyone any more incentive to postcount than ranks do).

I predict ITT people suggesting achievements which would be easier for themselves to get. *cough*

No but seriously some things are nice, like:
- Get 100 replies on one of your topics (and get that "Hot" symbol)
- Receive 50 thumbs up or so
- Post a story
- Get a level in WITBLO

As for the FoA achievement, there is one. Or at least supposed to be one.

I kinda wan medals that would be easy to get...not like starting a server for example.

How about a set of achievements per category? Like gaming a chieveens for certain amounts of posts in Gaming, and subachievements for the forums inside. Maybe critic medals for rating levels?

How about:

• Welcoming Party: Welcoming X new users
• Game Host: Hosting a successful game in the Forum Games (having a certain amount of posts in it? I dunno)
• Forum Gamer: Having a certain amount of posts in Forum Games (posts would count for this instead of postcount for ranks)
• Cookie Monster: Having a certain amount of cookies
• Professional LDer: Participating in an LDC for the first time.

To add to what JRFD said, when he's talking about having a high rated level, I believe it should have a certain number of ratings before you can get that achievement. For example: You need to have 4 or higher and at least 10 ratings on a level to get it. This is kind of biased against LL at the moment, since there's about 6 or so of us that do anything on there. Although, if more people join LL, that would be possible.

Does the Legendary Golden Cookie still exist? I heard if you managed to get 99 cookies you got a Golden Cookie.

I can't seem to nominate for cookies anymore.

Will we one day be able to nominate users for bacon?

Also, when there are really long descriptions, they get cut off.

If that does happen, it should be at least out of FIVE ratings in total - that's already how much is required to get a Portal level into the "Score" section of the in-game Portal.
