As a technical point, there isn't really a way to limit the amount of medals anyone can walk away with. I mean, we can limit the finalists, sure, but to ensure that one person can't win 52 medals the mods would need to forcibly remove members who are quite within the bounds of the category they've been nominated for. I really hope we're not that kind of community, one that rigs the polls behind back of the public.
So yeah, I really don't think we can do anything to limit the amount of medals per user. If anything, maybe specify some of the existing categories, or add some new ones? I really don't have any ideas for that though.

Maybe it's just me being selfish, but I'm for stopping the votes entirely. For three years now I've actually tried to get something, and last time when I thought I had, someone had beaten me. I'm fairly sure there's other people who feel like this, and that's why I believe it should be stopped.
Of course, if I haven't actually got anything in my entire three years of being here, my opinion obviously isn't important.

Well it's not our fault if you aren't getting noticed enough to actually get mentioned in the RV: If your goal is to get a RV medal, try to make more levels or show off more of your artistic skills... Because the only category I can actually see you in is "Best Member" and I would personally not vote for you because of what happened earlier this year. and because of that EE collab you destoryed *shot* Just saying.
So yeah, I have to admit that I think this was kind of a selfish suggestion right there.
And of course your opinion is important you are like one of the oldest member and one with the most posts

This is a feeling that I can understand.
But stopping them altogether for the sake of a few members would be quite unfair on everyone else. Perhaps we do need more categories. Instead of just best artist we could also have best drawing artist. And instead of just best SM63 designer, we could have best portal designer if anyone goes there.
I think that would offer the best solution really.

I always thought of multiple medals as a streak of excellence.
Really, I think the only solution is to keep the broad awards and make sub awards that branch off from those. Most Artistic already had best Sig and best Avatar. Best LDer could have best story, best puzzle, best platformer, etc.

Okay, because I really don't wanna start this coming Runouw Votes really late (or have Buff start it late lol) then how about we continue discussing these improvements and changes for the January votes, and continue with the July votes as normal? Admittedly I did bring this topic up far too late, and we are nearly 10 days late of posting it.

every opinion matters regardless of whay they have.i may have awards fr being on staff or winning the bro award, but they matter very little to me, as they are just a symbol of who i try to be. a medal isnt needed to show someone who you are inside if thats why you want one. we all know youre a cool person.
and i like mks idea. let the user only optain one of that medal. maybe like a list of site achievements to be earned by opinion of the peers.
