Less awards. After processes of enlightenment, I agree/think that we don't need so many categories. There really aren't that many active members that "qualify," after I took a gander.

Restricting the number of awards a person can get. I don't think we want to take any chances that one user may take too many. We want a fair game.
I'm not totally sure how we'd restrict fairly, but maybe the category you're most popular in would be the only one you'd be able to run for.

My reasoning behind less categories was that then medals would have some level of worth behind them. Only a select group of people would receive one (or rarely two) every six months, and it would be a sort of congratulations to them for being outstanding in the area they won.

Contrasted with our previous system, in which only a select group of people DID NOT receive any medals. In this sort of system, where almost everyone wins and only a few lose, medals have no value. We're praising so many people for so many things that it's virtually not praise at all, just a giant "♥♥♥♥ you" to the few people who walked away with nothing.

That needs to change.

Maybe I'll go through the current list of categories and see what can be done.

Actually, on second thoughts, I suppose taking a couple of awards away wouldn't do much harm. We have tons of them to dish out...so it's too easy to get one.

I gave it a week in hopes of the vote count differences being greater. I can't go one way just because it has one or two more votes. I want the majority to decide. Sorry that it's delaying it even further. Naturally, if enough people want to start already, we can.

I'd assume so. If there's only, like, 10 awards, there's no way anyone's gonna get more than 3.
