I don't think that means nobody can register...you should ask your friend why he can't get in.

Regardless, the fact that some people need to email people about their registration problems means it needs to be easier.

So to sum it up, what are the "plans" to revive the forum?

I think we all can agree that the new (not really), or current level portal is too complicated for new members.
I think we should sorta combine the current one and the old one. What I mean by this is that we can keep this page, (preferably have a main page for showing off the best levels of all time in both games and describing the portal and stuff.) except make that the page where the post level button is and stuff. Next part can have three choices:

1. No more approval process. People can post levels all they want. Instead, people can flag levels and explain why.
2. Keep the approval process, hire more lemods.
3. Keep approval process, have flag system, hire more lemods.
Although the approval process could make flagging pointless, I don't really think the lemods would have to do much except just glance by the levels during the approval.

Honestly I think option 1 is the best. Sure, we might get a bunch of spam levels, but they're relatively easy to spot and easily removable. I think having an approval process and hiring more lemods would just be a headache in the long run.

Also the effort in my last post seems pointless to me unless it's possible to get SM63 back on Newgrounds or something.
My last post was posted in mind that the level post will go back to what it was before we got the new level portal, which is why I suggested new mods because of how frequent levels were.

Newgrounds was only part of the reason for SM63's popularity. It's been posted on many, many other websites without my discretion as well. Those other websites account for a huge amount of views.

Is there anyone I can work with to make sure the WiTBLoaT videos happen as well as videos announcing LDCs and the LDC results?

I'm against the thing of no more Lemod approval. I've been taking a look to the old portal back then, and I saw a lot of levels with only one sign and a shine sprite, which is going to happen more often if the lemod system ends. Instead, I think the 2nd or the 3rd option would be the best.

Talking about it, there are some things that would help:

  • Changing the "Post topic" button to a "Post Level" button. Most of the users who are registering here are new to forums, and must say that when I was new it took me a while to figure out how to do it.
  • SM63 unfortunately isn't as popular as it was before. So you could try to put it again in newgrounds, or we could advertise it in other sites, and of course, showing LL to the world. I saw that you didn't post LL null space in newgrounds, Maybe doing it would help a lot.
  • Invite people. Invite whoever you know that might have interest in this site, for forums, Lding, anything.
  • The youtube idea is a pretty good one. Though we need to make it in a well known channel, because it wouldn't make sense posting it just for the older runouw users seeing it.
  • Make a gamethrough of SM63, LL, GT and the evil factory, On The Run, anything. No matter which game it is, it'll certainly attract people.

I think some of them are pretty much what everyone has been saying, but these are the ones which would help in my opinion.

Some people don't register to post levels. To post you'd have to post a level. I don't think people need so much hand holding just to post a level.

I saw that you didn't post LL null space in newgrounds, Maybe doing it would help a lot. Runouw said earlier that New grounds wasn't the only source of players. While I know that, most of us came from Newgrounds. Newgrounds was our largest source of people. I'd love if it was put back on but I don't think they'd just randomly allow a game taken down due to copyright back on again.
  • Invite people. Invite whoever you know that might have interest in this site, for forums, Lding, anything.
    Been there, done that.

I agree with this. Call me a negative nancy but I've already said 20bajillion times there's a bigger chance of it not getting noticed at all than getting noticed.

Also just saying, not many levels get to the point of approval these days. And when they do, the level mods approve/disapprove almost immediately.
