I agree with the idea to remove the rule of posting in the Welcome forum after one week. Why are we so mean to welcome them for only a short while with all those honeyed words to deceive them to thinking we are so nice so as to prevent ourselves from getting a warning (or threat),and after one week we completely ignore them and drive them into inactivity?

Because Dtroid the welcome forum used to have about a million topics a week (slight over-exaggeration) so it would just get cluttered constantly if people were welcoming others after a week of them making the topic. I still would like to have a limit but maybe we can extend it to 2 weeks instead. Still, having replies come in after 2 weeks of a welcome topic being made is a bit pointless, we can direct them to make a Site Discussion topic if they have questions, or to PM a moderator.

I don't really care for that rule, by the time the week has passed most people have welcomed and it's done.

I think the best way to make the forum active is to make it April Fool's day every day.

Just felt like you guys should know that we're definitely working on this with a few bumps made. It's gonna be a long process though.

I wanna make a Runouw map. Literal map. ^_^ Like, to help guide new members. I already made a quick sketch, it has a building for each forum and whatnot (could upload it later)...

And I thought maybe we also could have a Welcome topic in each thread, where you get an explanation about the forums, what's done there, and interesting things to do. Like, in the SM63 Level Designer Forum we can talk about the Level Collections and Series subforums, about the LDCs, the Duels, the multiple advice topics, MP3's topic, and all that kinda thing. Maybe accompanied with a cool little drawing.

I wouldn't mind working on art for this... and maybe redact a few posts... I dunno. To make the map sorta more interactive (click on the building to go!) I would need help though, from someone who knows BBCode or Flash... or just strategically cut the map into pieces. I guess that can work. ^_^
