Kiwi tends to do that. It's happened in the past to people too. Bowser07 just had that, and changing the Kiwi theme (find the settings near the top of the page, and just switch to something that isn't the dark theme) solved it for him.

Alright, it's that time again. We're considering switching chats. This time, we're considering on switching to a skype / teamspeak hybrid in alpha called "Discord."
There's a lot of reasons for us doing this:
  • Built-in voice chat, completely separated from the text chat so you are NOT required to use a microphone.
  • Proper ranking system as well as proper banning.
  • No account required, like IRC. It's still recommended though.
  • Logs are saved even if you aren't there. This is a big one.
  • Proper PM system.
  • Able to see who is offline, away, or online just like that one ajax chat we had like 4 years ago. (<3)
  • More minor things such as fun (albeit not useful) commands, a bot that's being worked on by Jello, and people being able to see what game you're playing, steam or not. Emojis from Apple/Android devices are here as well, if that's your forte.
Chances are, we'll be switching here. The positives outweigh the positives that IRC has because Discord just does everything IRC does better because IRC is so old. We're still waiting on the rest of the staff to agree on it, but you guys should set up your accounts and stuff now, get your avatar, all that jazz. If you ever want to have your own private text or voice channel for whatever reason, we can set that up for you as well. Name colours are the same on the server as they are here, but blue users are registered normal users while white users are unregistered normal users, meaning blue users are verified.

So far everyone appears to be on board with the idea of switching to Discord, but we should still make a poll and stuff

All right. We seem to be mostly on board for the test run of this. For the time being, I am switching the chat page over to the Discord widget. Unfortunately, it seems to just give you a link to Discord's own site for actually connecting, instead of actually embedding it, but that is nothing I can control. Anybody have a better process for this, let me know.

So, is there still the possibility to write in text, and if so, do I also see other people's talkings as text and can I keep my loudspeaker turned out if I have to? Because if it only works by voice then that's not good for me for various reasons.

Thank you, FF.

Nan's sig! From the previous Secret Santa event!: show
Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

It's okay Shroom, the voice chat is an option. I wouldn't do voice chatting either unless it was just me at home and lots of people were online. And that's pretty rare lol.
Afaik you can just mute and unmute your mic whenever.
