A quick look at the members list says 1203 users will be retained

Edit: Well it looks like that some emails went out. But going from the errors it looks like 1205 people did not get an email.

Aren't those 1205/1203 users us? As in the ones who actually have posted. I'm pretty sure we've known about this since you first sent it out.
Personally, I don't think we should delay it. It seems everyone who needs the email got it.

Forum is basically the site, the site is the forum. People want to submit levels. To submit levels, they have to register on the site. To submit the level, they submit to the portal through the forum. So in essence they are using the forum. It's how it was designed, because we wanted them to get active in the forums.

Quite honestly though, the user pruning is a big deal and should be publicly announced. Yeah we email the users...but how many of those users have a different email and haven't changed it? Factor that in. And how many even check their emails? I don't, tbh, except every Saturday or monthly on my alts, which atm are now filled with at least 20k emails over the course of three years. Pruning the memberbase is a big deal, you can't just waltz around it and only let the ones affected know, you have to make a sitewide announcement saying "Hey this is going to happen, just so you are all aware, so if you have questions you can ask us".

Otherwise we'd have problems, like we had on the first two pages.

I don't know, that's just how I'm seeing, like it was kept a secret or something. New forums or new features being discussed or planned out thoroughly, yeah, keep those secret until released and surprise us, but if it's going to hit the memberbase in a way that if you don't post in a specific forum you are out of luck, and there was no public clarification before hand, that's a bit of a no no.

But that's just me, at 4:30 in the morning, having not gotten any sleep...damn my screwed up health.

Not trying to sound rude but...

Is there any progress going on? Some users have been deleted but there are still 61900 remaining. However, if all zero-post accounts get deleted, the LDP will be filled with the word "Guest". So we should still keep the names within the LDP.

We've discovered it takes a very long time to mass delete users, so the number might go down gradually, but right now there's not much we can do about it.

...

Oh.

Huh, I didn't get any word about this, even after the project of deletion.

Ah well though. I'm just neutral on the matter.

I've never even noticed that not only the LDP will be full of white names but also that all their medals, avatars and level ratings will be flushed down the toilet? And if these people try to reregister, they can't restore their achievements and have to start from scratch, with zero levels, with the need to have five levels approved, or don't they? Unless there is a way to make the accounts restorable, that's not OK and you MUST keep the people that have posted levels.

People on the LDP won't lose their accounts because they've made posts...we've covered that before. People on the old LDP won't lose medals because medals didn't exist back then like they do now.

Are we just repeating the last 3 pages of the thread?

Pardon the bump, but as I've seen that an earlier level designer called Nicolosse, who had 50+ levels on the portal, newly has reregistered after being pruned and posted a level called "Nico's Beginning", which is waiting for approval, I have a suggestion:

Could the level mods (or other mods) maybe give him his levels back on the LDP, simply by changing the owner of the respective posts from the old, nonexistant account to his new account? (and so with every other LDer who reregisters after being pruned)
