If we're talking about staff promotions then most I can do is agree with the others.
Nin's more than fit to be a Global Mod, he'd do a great job as one. However, I have no idea if he's able to invest the time one needs to be in that position, which is one of the most important things one has to keep in mind when going up in the ranks- the higher up you are, the more time you must be willing to spend working for the site.
I also agree with Raz being promoted to Moderator. He's one of the members I always see around and I can see he likes the site a lot and wishes the best for it. It'd be up to him if he'd be okay with being a mod because it's an extremely different job when compared to being an User Rep and some people just wouldn't handle that weight on their shoulders- I know for certain that I wouldn't really like it.
Haven't seen SK lately around the chat (because timezones) or around the forums I lurk around so I can't give an opinion referring to a possible promotion. I mean, I've always thought he had potential but never thought of him as a first option. The circumstances are a lot different now so if everyone agrees, I say he'd be worth considering.
Can't say much about Level Mods since I rarely look around there. I should fool around with Last Legacy a bit more...
As for User Reps there are many options for promotions or demotions (myself included), but I honestly think we need to rework the "User Representative" role a bit. It's okay as it is, but one could just give some random members access to the (L)Mod forums and they'd do the exact same function as us (I believe some forums work that way- they anonymously give respected members access to these hidden forums so they can give their opinion on site issues, and if I'm mistaken, it's still an idea forum makers could consider). If we're really going to represent the site's users then we need to be able to be involved in more user related issues, but that's difficult if our community is small and there are no issues to discuss.
If we're keeping the same roles for the UReps we've always had (discuss mod issues/be a role model) then we certainly need to do some changes in the User Rep group since it's not ideal to throw in there someone who barely posts (or sticks to one single subforum- not too good either) and shows up in the chat once a week. Yes, I'm pretty much saying I shouldn't really be there, but I'm just stating what I consider to be facts that we must consider whenever we promote someone to this status.
If we're going to look for someone to replace Raz (if he gets promoted to Mod) and possibly myself, the first one that comes to mind is Nan since a lot of people like him and he'd be able to give a mature opinion on whatever forum-related issue arises. Someone else that comes to mind is lordpat- he's one of the few folks I always interact with in the chat and he seems fit for this position. I think they're both users other can rely on and they'd do a great job at representing the userbase.
I seriously think we need to rework the User Rep position first, though. As it stands we're just famous members with a fancy color and access to a few more subforums... It could be so much more, but I'm not great at coming up with ideas so nothing comes to mind.
Now, if you excuse me, I'll go hide in the shadows for some more. Boooooooooooooooooooooooo...
