Level Mod tool request

Postby Kimonio » April 10th, 2010, 2:53 pm

Okay, so I've been on the LDP for the past three days getting rid of spam levels. Recently, I've had two users post levels either over and over or post levels that are just too easy.

One of these users is markgam. He constantly posts his level and the only thing I can do is delete it for resubmitting the same level more than once.

If it is possible, could L-mods be given a tool that allows us to ban LDP posters temporarily for specific reasons, like resubmitting or submitting crappy/too-easy levels?

A normal ban should do it.

Can you ban? If not, just PM some mods to do it.

I think what Agentms is asking is... Will the users still get a warning? Or will they get banned? Which now, I'm wondering too. How heavy would the offense have to be to get them to be banned?

Well, here's what I say. If the user is still active (which could be checked using their profiles), then they ought to get a warning and then banned the second time. If the user hasn't been active for some time, might as well ban them since they're probably not coming back again anyway.

I'm not sure Level Mods should really have the power to ban. Then they would just be like the normal mods, and therefore destroy the point in them. On the other hand, they are probably regularly on the LD to check while the others aren't.

Imma (fire mah lazor) go with warning first though. If they're not active, then they're not going to post any levels anyway, so there's no point banning them. Either way, they should just get a warning.

Oh yeah, I agree that we shouldn't have the power to ban. Maybe we should have the ability to delete multiple levels by a single user at once, but not ban…if we feel a user really deserves a ban, we can PM a mod about it. But right now, I think things are OK…

Sounds good. :)

As for the multiple delete thing, yes, I agree that would be very nice. We actually need that for posts too, seeing as we have to run through each and every one of them seperately, which can be a pain in the neck. Especially with mass spam bots. :?

Maybe Runouw could make a way to ban people from the Level Designer Portal? Is that possible?
