Sorry, Ven, I ganked your post, and moved it here, because we had SERIOUSLY gone off topic.

All right. Everybody here back to the FAQ...

Regarding Ven's post,

How do I become a staff member?

It is ultimately up to the higher staff to decide. Promotions occur at their discretion, usually dependant on how active current staff are. As far as ideal traits they look for, a good sense of social awareness and responsibility is generally expected. Becoming familiar with the staff members and giving them a good sense of what you are like through conversation will help.

... yeah I think I need help.

There ya go now. :3

For the issue about "how many levels have to be approved", it should be kept uniformly IMO if it isn't already, aka five levels for everyone. If someone beyond the 5 lvls limit keeps posting spam levels, those can still be deleted, can't they?

And remove the "Friends and Foes" section of course, as stated above.

text change suggestions: show
Why can't I login? - There are several reasons why this could occur. First, ensure your username and password are correct. If they are, you'll see an information in case you've been banned. It is also possible that you ran into a bug a few browsers have with the site - remove your cookies and try again, or use another browser.

What are Administrators and global moderators? - Administrators and global moderators are members assigned with the highest level of control over the entire board. These members can control all facets of board operation, including setting permissions, performing staff changes, and setting up occasional subforums for events like Halloween or Christmas etc. These members also have full moderator capabilities in all forums.

What are Moderators? - Moderators are individuals who look after the forums from day to day. They have the authority to carry out warnings and bans, and edit or delete posts and change the owner of a post, and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics. Generally, moderators are present to prevent users from going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material.

What are Level Moderators? - This group of moderators only have powers in the Level Designer and Portal forums, and are the ones who will enforce the guidelines in the Level Portal. They approve or disapprove levels from new designers, and are often in charge of LDing-related events. They can also carry out warnings.

What is this “Fortress of Awesome” I heard of? - The FoA is a secret forum for the veterans of the site, a place which is liberated from most forum rules. If you want to join after you've already been on the forums for a longer time, send a PM to any Global Moderator. The FoA members will then vote on whether you are allowed in.

Why did I receive a warning? - If you have broken a rule, you may be issued a warning. Contact someone else from the staff if you are unsure about why you were issued a warning.

Can I post images? Yes, images can be shown in your posts. You must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag. If you're a new member, you need to have a few posts until you can post images, as this is an anti-spam measure.

Why does the form on top say the level code is not valid? - Make sure you copied the entire level code, and you are in the right forum (you can't post Last Legacy levels in the Super Mario 63 portal). If you're posting a Last Legacy level, avoid the "Easy level submission" boxes, they are bugged for a strange reason.

Suggestions to add stuff: show
For "Formatting and Topic Types": (put at the bottom)

What is the Graveyard? - This subforum of Site Discussion consists of locked topics only, which mostly are from past forum events, and other topics that are no longer relevant.

For "Level Portal": (put beneath "Why can't other people see my level")

How can I avoid my level to be disapproved or deleted? - Most common reasons for a disapproval are that the level is too short and shows very little effort, or that items and tiles are placed in a messy way or there are serious bugs, making the level unplayable. View this Wiki Guide if you are unsure about what to improve.

Entirely new section: "Forum events"

What are Level Designing Contests? - Level Designing Contests, or LDCs in short, are large events where level designers compete against each other to create the best level they can to a given theme or restriction, within a given deadline. All levels are judged afterwards, and the Top placers are rewarded with special medals.

What are Runouw Votes? - Runouw Votes (RV in short) is a semi-annual event where the community comes together to vote on the best and most noteworthy accomplishments of the recent half (or total) year. Who is the best moderator? Who is the best level designer? Which friendship bond is the strongest? That and more stuff.

What are Art Contests? - Art Contests are rare events where you're invited to create a piece of artwork as well as possible. The winner is awarded a special medal. Right now, Art Contests only take place within seasonal events, such as Halloween or the Runolympics.

What are the Halloween and the Winter / Holidays subforums? - These subforums are set up shortly before Halloween / Christmas, and offer special mini-contests for the respective season, among other interesting stuff. These subforums have a different layout, and are graveyarded once the season is over. Both of them offer you the possibility to change your username during the season, and for Christmas we usually have a Secret Santa event, where users make little gifts such as poems or signatures for each other.

What are the Runolympics? - The Runolympics are our largest event, where the participants are split up into teams and they go through various mini-contests related to the site, or gaming in general. Points are awarded for their placements, and the team with the most cumulative points at the end is the crowned winner. The first official edition of the Runolympics was completed in 2015, and it's supposed to be hold every two years.

...

has this died? We basically have everything together for it, don't we? Or do we need just more input from others?

EDIT: No no, I mean the limit mentioned in the FAQ that 5 levels are needed before you get out of the system. While I'm convinced that it is 5 levels indeed, some others claimed that it would only be three, or a varying amount depending if the user was already striking with many disapprovals. For the sake of a reliable FAQ, I'd like to have it unified for everyone to let it be 5 levels, and for those who strike with many disapprovals, we can still keep an eye on them.

Like 5 levels a day limit?
Also if someone had a 6 level series and they wanted to post it all at once, what'll they do then with that limit?

EDIT: Well, you already answered the question 10 minutes later I guess.

Also,

I guess things are fine the way they are now? Maybe that's why something hasn't been brought in a while.

<Shroom> @Raz where would you think to put a note about Cookies in the FAQ
<Shroom> maybe to User Preferences and Settings?
<Shroom> or Private Messaging?
<Shroom> also can you please make this face less evil?
<Raz> we haven't even decided how to structure the FAQ yet
<Shroom> well, apart from adding Events and removing Friend / Foes I don't see need for changes on the subsections
