Re: Website Suggestions

Thumbs up x1

Postby ~MP3 Amplifier~ » July 29th, 2014, 9:17 am

What I tend to do is (but this is because I have mod powers), is delete the last post I made on an inactive topic and then post a new one. But there have been times where the last post has had a thumbs up or something and I haven't wanted to delete it, or it's had important info in it. Maybe it's because I'm aware of this reasoning or something, but I've never been as strict on double posting, only when it's non-stop after the other or if someone has made another post within minutes or hours of the previous one has it been a real problem for me. It's also hard on personal topics like art, writing, level ones etc when no-one responds but you have to update it. Again, I let people get away with that.

That's quite clever (unless you have a thumb up) , why didn't I think of that, you don't need any mod powers to delete your post, and all you have to do is copy-paste the BBcode.

Enjoy your thumb up ;)

Thank you, FF.

Nan's sig! From the previous Secret Santa event!: show
Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

I think that still works for us normal users; I can delete a post I made if it's the last post in a topic. Thanks for the tip. ;)

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Oh right, I forgot you don't need mod powers to delete a post if it's the last in the topic. :3 That's cool.

Yup, you also don't need mod powers to lock a topic if you created it.

I had typed out this long post regarding the chat debate, but the page timed out as usual and pressing back or refresh deletes it all, so ♥♥♥♥ it. I'll summarize it.

The chat is not the cause of the bandwidth. The chatlog is. Remove a logging option, bring back the old chat, boom, fixed. The chatlog is what sucked the sites bandwidth so much, prior there was no issues.

Also can we please fix posting. I hate having to copy all my text just in case the page says "could not load" every single time. Not an understatement or exaggeration. It's Every. Single. Time. Only happens on here.

Please bring back the option to disable the flash header too pls. I have it selected on UCP, but... http://puu.sh/aCbV4/d1d1b7a6fa.jpg it's allliiiive.

Also, if we do continue to use the IRC, at least can we have one where we can maintain it, or where the OP is active...not being rude, but Suyo is hardly ever on when I'm on. o-O

Also seemingly only happens to you.

At this point the Skype group is a hell of a lot more active than the IRC so something clearly went wrong

Happens regardless of device, where I am, what type of PC or device, what service, what connection I may have, etc. So it really isn't tethered clientside, but seems more based on server.

Doesn't happen to me. I don't know what browser you're using, but pressing back has still saved the text for me on both firefox and chrome.

It does if you hit back immediately, yeah. It doesn't always work if you wait a little, though.

I just get in the habit of copypasting anything that takes a while to write. It takes like two seconds, and what's better: a two second precaution or spending two hours retyping a short essay?

Ctrl+C all day every day.
