What's the point of logging in as hidden?

What's the point of being hidden? I know it will hide your online status, but your name still shows up in the chat!

Well, by clicking: "Mark Forums read," all of the forums would be colored blue right? And if someone makes a post it becomes red, signifying a new post arrived. So we can tell what you're doing Superyoshi, even if you login as hidden.
