Groups

So far we have....:

  • Admin - The administrator. The site creator, and the one who made the forums and adds "stuff" to the site
  • Moderators - Appointed by the administrator to help control, and enforce the rules of the site
  • Global Moderators - A high ranked moderator with a load of "powahs". These are, like Moderators, appointed by the administrator to help control, and enforce the rules of the site, but have more powers
  • Level Moderators - Appointed by the group leader, which in our case are the mods according to this. These people are moderators in the Level Designer forum, and can delete levels in the Level Designer Portal.
  • Registered Users - You are automatically put into this group when you join. Every member is a part of this group.



Others? - I suggested Chat Mods, but do any of you have any more ideas. They don't have to be mod groups, since I think we have enough (after chat mods of course :awe: ). So what do you think?

There's been discussion everywhere on these forums about having chat mods; I seriously doubt all this talk originated from your website, which I only just now heard of.


That being said, I still have mixed feelings on the whole Chat Moderator idea. I mean, We Level Mods (there's almost always at least 1 online) can handle it perfectly, not to mention Runouw and the other Mods can do it too. There are plenty of people who already moderate the chat, meaning we don't need an entire group open for it.

I'd actually like something more along the lines of This:

  • Niklaw and Superyoshi are moved to Admin status (although Runouw is still Site Admin)
  • Fourinone is moved to Global Mod status
  • Some of the Level Mods are moved to Normal Mod status (maybe 2)

Honestly, I think things are fine the way they are right now. Plus, upgrading two level mods to mod status might present issues, which you hopefully will realize as the month progresses.

You're not the only one. I have seen many other websites that have chat mods. And YOU started the off-topic-ness.

I think chat mods are a great idea. They should only be able to delete chat messages, so they do not get to much power :awe:
And not be able to see forum 23, because, whats the point? They can't do anything important, just delete messages >.>

It's not "BS". It's the truth. Why must we change something that works so well?

It's not often that someone will flame in the chat. We have cencoring, so there isn't any blatant swearing. Those few times people actually do flame are taken care of. If not, they're forgotten, and left to die of old age in the archive.

I agree. We should have chat mods. Because mischievous users might spam in the chat and Chat Mods are there to delete them.
