I hate claustrophobia.

I like the one we have cause it seems... brighter.

And I also hate the fact that it screws up for chat mods. That can be fixed, aye?

Actually, I have a better idea. Rather than just choose one and stick with it, can't you give each independed member an option of which layout to use? Maybe there could be a check mark or something above chat where when you check it, it switches to Archive layout, and if you uncheck it, it stays the same? It seems a lot easier than just some members being happy and some members being unhappy with the layout.

I agree with blab. Maybe a drop down menu where you can select the number of posts in chat that you can see at once?

If that can't be done, I say a compromise…the new layout's a bit too cluttered but the old one is a little annoying when the chat moves really quickly because you only see so few at once without scrolling. Maybe boost from three to five viewable at once?

That'll just take up space, though.

I vote the second one, because I hate this one because I have to scroll down to see what people say.

You know what I realized? The second doesn't display the time that a messege was posted. Do you plan to change that?

Why do you need that Well, if you want, I can add that. Maybe only the time, not the date? I don't think there will be 24h without a chat post :P

Or maybe if you roll your mouse over a messege, it displays the time and date, rather than it always displaying.
