Save from bump

Postby Firestar » June 17th, 2010, 4:33 pm

Know how you have an active topic but people are on vacation so it starts getting into the BUMP point? Well I had an Idea; when its near dieing, put "--saving from bump--". If it continues, ask someone else to do it.

Think this is good or not?

If people stop posting in it, it's not really an active topic now, is it? You can't force people to stay interested in something. If someone bumps a topic with something relevant, i's not that bad either. So you should just leave it.

On the contrary, I haven't killed anybody yet. Rest assured if it comes to that you'll be the first on my list. :awe:

But seriously, back on topic. Quite frankly, I think that the rules for bumping are quite clear. If your post contributes something to the topic, it doesn't matter how large the bump is. So there's no need to save a topic from a bump as you propose since, assuming the bump is purposeful, no harm will befall your topic. If the bump is unnecessary, then it's unnecessary.

I don't think you should do it. It's probably useless. But you can bump it if you are making a new level or new artwork. But other than that, just leave it alone.

No, becuase:

*1 UNnecessary, you jsut post a unnneeded post. Vacation? There will not all user have vacation, unless they don't like your topic, just let it die.
*2 Bump is bump.

Wow. Sometimes you guys have the most laughable reasons for something.

Bump doesn't mean the topic needs to be locked. Bump is reviving a lot forgotten topic, and if you're bumping it just for the hell of it, then that's when action will be taken.

Well, true, but that doesn't exclude us from bumping topics about games to announce an update or anything of the like.

True that.

Anyways, should this topic be locked now?

I know, I want to say ( UNnecessary) Bump= UNnecessary.

If you bump it with no reason, there were many old level will get "renew".

That doesn't make sense. You make a useless bump on a level topic and all of the levels in that topic gets renewed. I don't get. It. Could you explain more please?
