Can we make a new rule?

I'd like a rule that does not accuse someone of starting a flame war if they don't say something glowing to the other person.

For example

Well, Linkdroid doesn't respect the mods.

Alright, no flame war.

Examine it. Moy simply stated that LD doesn't always respect the mods.

Four assumes flame war.

Not only is that a hurtful assumption, but it also brings up their past and throws it in their face.


Say, that could be another rule. No throwing people's past in their face.

Second rules applies to respect, but I'm not sure how accusing someone of a flame war could be a rule. That comes down to common sense, look at the Chat Archive, or ask people who were on at the time.

Because if you say "no flame war", its like saying "your an idiot, you flame and start flame wars, so just shut up"

You should keep quite until people start flaming and fighting, then say "Okay guys, no flame war"

I wouldn't call it accusing you, I'd call it prevention. fourinone isn't stating you're going to start a flame war, he's simply stopping a problem for occuring before it happens. In my opinion, that's the smartest thing you can do.
