How are new members being treated?

They are treated well. It's only when they break the rules multiple times that users may get a bit irritated, and they have a right to.

They are treated well, for the most part. Some users could be a little nicer about how they handle a rule-breaker; then again, if a member breaks rules multiple times, it's their own fault.

They are treated somewhat harsh; nothing I think would actually drive any members away from the site, but it may be a smart idea to simply report them if they continue breaking rules.

They are treated very harshly; some members just need to shut it when it comes to handling new members.

<_<

I'm starting to feel horrible. Like it's all my fault.

Btw destroyer, your definition of n00b is wrong.
A n00b is basically an ignorant user that does not even search for things before asking, flaming for an horrible reason, spamming like an idiot, etc. At least, that's mine.

Plus, I don't think that a story is a good way to release anger and call people jacka**es.

If you didn't want to point fingers about who was in involved in the whole flame war yesterday, why did you use Usuario as a bad example in your post? Maybe he's right, maybe he's not; it's not your place to start pointing your finger at him.

I never said Usu was in the flame war, did i. And two, i used him as a example because he always yells at the newbs when they break rules i may add. ;)

I voted one.

By the way, not that the word noob is too much of an insult, but overuse is just plain rude. I get the feeling that it might scare off some innocent new members. Cause I remember the first time I was called one, It was mostly for my lack of skill at something. I knew it wasn't that bad, but it kind of made me feel crummy. Not that anyone uses it alot, but it's used by alot of people. Sure, some new members may deserve being classified as a noob, but innocent members and the like will feel much less good about being a new user here. just think, one member starts spamming, people then try to reason with him/her. Once the reasoning doesn't work, members start to bash the new user with insults, maybe not alot, but enough to convince him/her to stop. (Rarely ever does someone get insulted like that alot. Just an example.) Then an innocent new user comes along and see's words like newb, and newbie in the chat. Said new user feels bad about him being new. :|

But all in all, new users are treated fairly, and if they do break rules, people try to reason with them nicely.

…well, wrong is not exactly a fair way of looking at it. Really, if the majority of votes are going to option 2, then that's the "right" option according to most of the public. It may be wrong in your opinion and in the opinions of some others, but yeah…

So let's say 2 wins. We all have to conform to 2 cause that's right? O_o Even if it's close?

…depends on what you mean by close.

As things stand right now, 2 is beating 3, the runner-up, by nine votes…it has more than twice as many votes as 3. I don't call that close.

And conform isn't the right word, because there really isn't any specific course of action we're requiring mods and user reps to take, since this primarily concerns their behavior. It simply asks us to be slightly less harsh about things. That doesn't forbid the staff from being extremely nice to spammers if they so choose…it just indicates that the Runouw.com community does not see a huge problem with how things stand right now. It's not really a right/wrong issue.
