Mario vs. Sonic

Compare these two characters, compare the games they were in, or compare the other characters from Mario or Sonic games and other media.

Sonic has an attitude which some people really hate. I don't.

Mario is all out to save the princess, but we don't really know why. Any ideas?

This isn't like a
"Which is better" topic, right? because those can lead to flames which no one wants.
Mario is a fire shooting, cape spinning, tail swinging plumber.
Sonic is a hedgehog who can spin, run, and turn super saiyan,,,,,

that's about all sonic can do, normally.

THE CREED: Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted.
"...That's rather cynical."

"It would be if it were doctrine, but it is merely an observation of the nature of reality.
To say that Nothing is True is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shephards of our own civilization.
To say that Everything is Permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with the consequences, whether glorious...or tragic."
-Ezio Auditore da Firenze explaining the Creed, 1514, Masayaf.

Well I probably should say that you talk about anything about those 2. I guess the title would give you the wrong idea, eh?
