This was in an E-rated game?

Postby JSlayerXero » September 4th, 2011, 1:33 pm

The subtitle basically explains it all. Though screen caps and videos aren't required, it's much appreciated.

Link feels all warm and fuzzy! Gee, I wonder why... Not that this would seriously boost the age rating up much. But it's worth noting you don't see this in E-rated games often. (Especially in this day and age)

There are other things from Majora's Mask that aren't exactly E-rated material of this day and age, such as the concept of the game. Your racing the clock, and if you fail, the world ends. Yeah, for real. Here's the game over screen if you fail:

Yeah, the fact that you just get sent back without all your progress is underwhelming, but that aside, it's pretty dark if you take into account the fact you just watched the world end. E-rated alright. My FOOT!

This version includes the 5/6 or so minutes that comes BEFORE the moon kills you:

While you can reverse time, and time reverts (minus your progress) even if you fail, how bloody often do you see that in a game rated E? Seriously, we need more games like this.

Now for something Kirby!

You thought 02 was bad, wait 'til you get a load of version 1! Skip to 2:35 to see what I'm talking about.

Feel free to post more. Just remember, it must be from an E-rated game. E-10 only counts if it's something that would clearly jack the rating up.

You think this is bad? Look at Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. Especially Banjo-Tooie. You know how much content in those games is ''inappropriate''? Lots. Back then, I don't think the ESRB would've given a game an E10 or T just for a few things. But that's what I think.

I saw the game over sequence, I can only imagine how the rest of the game goes.

Edit: Interesting thing about Majora's Mask. Chateau Romani was a drink with alcohol in it. And you could drink it in-game. Yeah, I'm not kidding. And it was Young Link that drank it. Wow. Nowadays there's no way you'd find that in an E-rate.

And yet, Ocarina of Time was rated E. It should be E-10 because near the end of the game, Ganondorf vomits blood. And when Link slashed at Ganon's face, blood went flying. But Nintendo fixed that problem with Ganondorf vomiting blood to him just vomiting as if he had the stomach blood. However, when Link slashed at Ganon's face, the blood was the same color as the green vomit. It's as if Ganondorf was turned into the Hulk or something.

I'm sure he doesn't mean that. There are some very... suggestive rock formations in the game. Ask Google if you really want to know.

LOOK AT THIS HOLE IN THE WALL, IT MUST BE SEXUAL INNUENDO.
LOOK AT THIS HAPPY COUPLE SLEEPING IN THE SAME BED TOGETHER. IT MUST BE A SEXUAL REFERENCE.
OMG, POOP? KIDS SHOULD NOT KNOW ABOUT POOP.

Yeah, sorry, a lot of that hidden Banjo-Kazooie "subliminal messages and sexual innuendo" seemed like ♥♥♥♥, and the ones that really were innuendo and such seem harmless at best.

"...That's rather cynical."

"It would be if it were doctrine, but it is merely an observation of the nature of reality.
To say that Nothing is True is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shephards of our own civilization.
To say that Everything is Permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with the consequences, whether glorious...or tragic."

I was about to say, more often than not the creators would stick in innuendos without even realizing it. I do it all the time without realizing it until AFTER it's way too late. More often than not the kids won't get it until after their older. I know that one from experience :P
