The Terraria Topic

Postby *Emelia K. Fletcher » December 21st, 2011, 10:48 am

So, I've just gotten Terraria. And I decided to make a Terraria topic. That's pretty much it.

So, can we discuss? Like servers or tips or bosses or whatever? Go!

Well mostly me lol.

Yeah, I died like five times. :/

Anyways, I'm almost always willing to multiplay with someone, so like if you need some help with your world, let me know and I'll be happy to join your server and help you. Or, if you just want to multiplay, that's fine too. If you want to multiplay with me, it'd probably be best if you added me on Steam. Steam name is same as here.

The only thing I have to say is that Terraria starts off boring and slow. That's one reason I don't like starting over with a new character. But I do have a tip for beginners. Stay indoors at night. Or better yet, skip the night. Here's how you can skip the night:
1. Download the Terraria server software from the Terraria website.
2. Start the server, enter the number of your world (they are shown in the window), and press enter. Press enter another few times until it starts loading the world data.
3. In the window, type "dawn" without the quotes.
4. Type "exit" without the quotes, and it will save the world data. Once it finishes, the window will automatically close.

Ta-dah! Now go back to your world and it will be dawn. It starts off dark, but it'll get brighter as the sun rises.

Stay indoors at night?

When starting off, you're very weak, and it takes forever to kill enemies like zombies because you can only do like 2 or 3 damage to them. But it gets easier the more powerful a weapon you get.

What I do on my first night that could be considered cheap.
Hunt down as many starter chests as possible as they contain iron skin potions etc and 4-10 iron or copper bars.
Make ♥♥♥♥ from them and kill eyeballs for lens'. Profit.
I'm Pretty sure I should put something here...

I have a question: what the hell are Blinkroot seeds used for? I've accumulated tons of them underground.

Growing blinkroot. :troll: *shot*

Seriously though, you can plant them in clay pots to grow Blinkroot. Blinkroot is an ingredient in some potions. See this link for more information about Blinkroot:

EDIT: By the way, if you're looking for information about a certain item, just replace Blinkroot with the item you're looking for (in the URL).

I just figured out something great for a beginner. A Wooden Bow with Wooden Arrows is stronger than a Copper Shortsword or Wooden Sword, and Wooden Arrows are relatively easy to make. Plus, there's a chance you can get them back after you use them!
