while we are in the housing business, might as well:

My solo house. Just before hardmode: I've already protected my castle from Corruption by digging, I installed Blood-Moon-proof doors on both sides (working with switches, and with lava pits for easy loot collecting) and reached Hell with my Hellevator. I just need to do some crap in the Jungle before jumping into hardmode. The reason I am not very advanced is because I've been playing with MK and Mega in multiplayer

also room in the upper left corner is unoccupied, waiting for Party Girl

This reminds me of when I used to play the older versions of terraria, I would trick my house out with a whole bunch of stuff, but it was usually blocky at best, but functional.

Now a days I can't seem to bother with building a nice house, I just build shelters underground and live there.

I'm starting to consider trying out this game again seeing how much praise it has been receiving lately, especially from my friend who has been playing the game for a while (he says it's definitely not his favorite, but he's been hooked on it since the recent update). I haven't played this since one of my friends let me try it out a couple of years ago, and that was only about 10-15 minutes, and I thought it was OK at best.

meh

It's just another similar minecraft knockoff, which to say I didn't find minecraft appealing for a long duration.

The only reason I like it is because of the battle system. Crafting's nice and all, but I've seen it so many times it just doesn't feel extraordinary. Except when I discovered frostburn arrows.
Expect something cool here soon!

I definitely see a lot of similar mechanics to Minecraft, but from what I heard, there's a lot more variety with items and blocks you can use later on (I guess it helps that this a 2D platformer-sandbox, so not as much coding may be needed for nifty ideas). I will say that it looked a lot more like Minecraft when it was in its earlier stages of development than it does now.

Minecraft is much more sandboxy than Terraria. Terraria has more goals which are set for it, since there's many different bosses. I'd say the game is much more RPG-esque than Minecraft-esque. There's way more killing and farming monsters than there is building. I mean, you CAN build, and there are options for that, but that's not really why you play the game, unlike Minecraft.
