For those of you who are not in the know, I will tell you about Orior Gates.

An Orior Gate is a type of teleporting device in Terraria. It can be used to teleport to your spawn point and back to the Gate (assuming you have a Magic Mirror in your possession).

There's many different types of Orior Gates, which are used a little differently. However, there are three major types: ones that use doors, ones that use cobwebs, and ones that use sand.

Probably the most simple type are the ones that use doors. Here's a gate that is the most compact an Orior Gate that utilizes doors can be:

(69.18 KiB) Not downloaded yet

Measurements (for this compact version):
Width: 10 tiles
Height: 11 tiles

Requires:
Building material (such as wood or stone)
Background walls
Bed
Torch
1 block of sand (any kind will work) or silt
Magic Mirror

If you build one like I did in the picture, here's how to use it:
1. Take your block of sand, place it on top of the torch, and right-click the bed to set your spawn.
2. Open the door, and move the sand into the one tile space above the door.
3. Ready your Magic Mirror.
4. Use your Magic Mirror, but right-click the door to close it before you teleport away.
5. Use your Magic Mirror to teleport back.

It's mostly just trial and error to figure out the timing on when to close the door. If you click it too early, you'll just teleport down to the bed and have to try again. If you click it too late, it won't close before you teleport away, meaning you'll have to foot it all the way back to the Orior Gate to try again.

The reason why this works is because of the mechanic of the Bed. If the housing becomes unsuitable because of a certain cause, but when it is fixed, the bed will work again without having to manually reset the spawn. The Orior Gate makes use of the sand block in making the housing suitable or not. When the sand is sitting above the door (or falling when you close the door), the housing is not suitable. But if it's resting on top of the torch, it will be suitable.

If you're confused, go to the Terraria Online topic. There should be some more examples and some tutorial videos on how to use Orior Gates. http://www.terrariaonline.com/threads/f ... tal.60203/

Okay so.

As most of you know, I have Terraria. I already beat WoF.

So I'm at hardmode.

And I remember someone asking for a Dual Hook. I believe it was Zunar.

So I just, like, right now, got one.

Who wants it?

I don't recall asking for a Dual Hook.

Anyways, I recommend keeping it. Dual Hook is arguably better than the Ivy Whip, because the Hook can reach much further than the Whip, however the Whip has 3 arms whereas the Hook only has two.

If you don't want it, I'll take it, but I recommend keeping it.

The Ivy Whip is probably better for more intricate work, like maybe working with lava, since the exact center of two blocks might not always be safe. It's probably a lot better for building for the sole fact that it has three.

The Dual Hook is better for adventuring though, I would say.

Dual hook also gives of a small amount of light.
I'm Pretty sure I should put something here...
