KABOO wrote:Kirby's Avalanche is actually a completely different game in Japan, just with Kirby characters slapped on when they translated it for America. So that might have something to do with it.
Harmless Spook wrote:I'm aware, but even in Japan the dialogue and storyline was pretty freaking different. The main characters were much more sentient than what they made of Kirby in that game. :/
Don't think that's the only game that did that. Dr. Robotnic's Mean Bean Machine is another one of those games. But this is the ONLY Sonic game where sonic doesn't exsist in gameplay or at all.
Besides that there are two verisons. Both that I have found are on Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Gems Collection. Mega Collection & Gems Collection have the good one which is like SNES graphics. The Special Mega Collection + (which I know is on PS2) has the bad one. Mainly looks like NES graphics and cheap design. However besides graphics and low detail on sound, its basicly the same thing.
Back to topic, I have a lot of favorite games. I can name a top 10 if I have to, actually I will since I love top 5s!
5. Pokémon Heart Gold & Soul Silver: I have to admit, there was a lot to do in these games. Let me break it all down like I do with my top 5s:
Graphics: 6/10 They are good, but they kind of recycle the ones from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum Versions.
Storyline: 7-10 10 years after the events of Pokémon Gold & Sliver? Nice! I just don't understand why these new characters look the same as the Gold & Sliver ones.
Although I do confused on little parts, had an EXTRA Story & Pokémon League challenge after you beat the game in Kanto! So much Nostalgia.
Gameplay: 8-10 Good as any Pokémon game, good gameplay with different ways to beat each trainer. Sometimes they have different pokemon as well! Not to mention that there are special
events that can be done with a special item or pokemon. And the final event pokemon can be transferred to the Black & White Versions for a secret event resulting in getting
a special pokemon very early! In later versions, you can obtain this pokemon from it's pre-evolution or catch it as a regular pokemon. The catching part refers to X & Y version.
Overall: 21-30 Overall I think its a good game, but its look alike of Gold & Silver Versions makes it kind of over rated. As it was one of the best games of all time rated years ago.
4. Kid Icarus: Uprising: Well this game got me in a happy and killer kind of mood as a progressed. However, after I beat it, there was very little entertaining for me to do after I got 100%.
Graphics: 9-10 Pretty good for a 3DS game. This really did unleash some of the 3DS's full potential. As some of the sprites looked amazing. And the game itself is well detailed. Although I would
have given it 10 if the character sprites when talking would look a little better. Although they did pretty good on making the sprites' lips move as they talk. And I mean exactly
like if they were actually talking. Pretty grand for a game to see that.
Gameplay: 7-10 Now the idea didn't feel original or good, but it made up quickly by introducing 3D landscapes, lots of power-ups & wepions, and other stuff like the funny & informational dialog.
Not to forget, there are also challenges. I find it not very required for 100% Completion as I got it and I haven't even beaten the Viridi or Hades Challenges yet. Much other stuff
are unlocked as your progress through the game like options, loot, and other cool stuff. A special thing about the game is that various chapters have a wepion they spawn
commonly. So you can find Dark Pit Staffs sometimes on Chapter 6, which Pandora stuff on Chapter 5. Not to mention, you can crank the difficulty up for harder enemys. Why do
such a stupid thing SuperCraig64? Are you DUMB?! Well no I am not. Actully doing this allows you to get even better loot than if you did it on 2.0. So compare what you find on 2.0
& 9.0 and see the difference!
Storyline: 8-10 For a great, but under-estimated game, the story was good. There are a lot of spoilers of what I am about to say so I am going to double check. Also this is a short version.
Little detail mentioned out of the good stuff in the game. This is a summery of the story. So if your going read it, good luck reading this.
NOTE: Hover over to reveal!
Basicly Medusa comes back, vows revenge, and even sends commanders to attack the overworld. And Palutena sends Pit to help fight the underworld forces again after 25 years (or so they mention). After beating Pandora, she tries to create an evil clone of pit. But fails as "Dark Pit" fights back and helps Pit beat Pandora. However he is not Pit's ally as he steals whats left of Pandora and flies away. After tracking Dark Pit down, they fight. Pit eventually wins and Dark Pit flees. So Pit & Palutena went back to fighting medusa's forces after realizing that Dark Pit is no threat to the humans and has no intentions of working with the underworld army. After a while, they eventually track down medusa, defeat her, and save the land...or so they thought...
As the TRUE leader of the underworld Hades appeared and crashed their celebration. Serously, he does. After Hade's plan goes into motion, Viridi goes into war with the Underworld and Overworld. As she thinks humans are greedy beings and exploit nature (well at least I know why they say we are monsters to nature) and the only way to stop this is to exterminate the humans. After taking out some of Viridi's forces, alien beings have invaded the earth! So viridi, the forces of light, and the underworld made a short alliance to stop these creatures, with the help of Pyron (not so sure I spelled his name right...). After getting to the brain that's controlling the aliens, Pyron betrays the alliance and fuses with the brain. He shortly had controlled the aliens until HE was possessed by the brain and has lost his own will. After destroying the brain, the entire base was shot with flames, which pushed it far away from earth. And something makes Pit black out. 3 Years later, Pit wakes up in a dark area with the words Chaos Kin stuck his head. Then he sees a ring & a girl picking it up. Then somehow he takes control of the girl! He realizes that he is a ring and can control anyone who wears it. The ring was passed down from the girl, to a dog, to Magnus (Cookies for you if you know who he is). After taking control with Magnus, he has a short conversation with his mind. So Pit (controlling Magnus) hunts down his original body. Once he does, he fights it as Magnus & prevails. Magnus takes the ring off and puts it on Pit's finger. At last, Pit as back! After a short time, Viridi helps pit out & shows what has happened to skyworld over the 3 years. And for some reason, Palutena is now evil and tries to kill Pit. After retreating, they go for obtaining the Lightning Chariot. After making it this far, they figure out that Palutena has been possessed by the Chaos Kin. After defeating it, it STEALS Palutena's soul and takes it to the Chaos Dimension. Dark Pit then comes and rips the portal open with the chariot unexpectedly and explains that Palutena is just as important as Pit thinks. So they both go into the Chaos Dimension and go after the Chaos Kin. After a long battle with the Chaos Kin, it trys to finish Dark Pit, and Pit sacrifices his life to save him and dies. Palutena realizes what Pit has done is not only sad, but happy Pit did all of this to save her & Dark Pit. Palutena, Dark Pit, and Viridi decide that they have to give Pit an extra life by dipping him in the Fountain of Youth. Hades comes in and explains his plan very detailed. After learning all hades has done, Viridi & Palutena make an alliance to defeat Hades and restore peace to the Skyworld, Underworld, & the overworld. Shortly after Dark Pit gets to the spring, Pandora comes back to life! After a long battle, because of Dark Pit losing Pandora's power, he can't fly anymore. With Pit saved, and the stage set, our hero goes to finish Hades once and for all. But fails pretty bad as Hades destroy's the Three Sacred Treasures and (I don't want to mention this part. Play and find out for yourself...). After that, they go for another plan. They go and seek the creator of the Three Sacred Treasures and will ask to build a much stronger one that Pit can use to defeat hades. After braving the creator's 3 Trials, Pit finally got the new wepion. Going into the BEST & LONGEST Final Battle I seen in my life, Pit prevails and Hades is dead! Viridi decides to spare the humans for now as to celebrate that Hades is Dead. (To know this you must wait at the "The End" Screen for 5 mins. before this happens) However, All Hades is left is a soul and breaks the 4th Wall saying that maybe he will be revived after 25 years like Medusa.
Overall: 24-30 Impressive game I must say, but I don't think Nintendo or any company will make a game as original & entertaining as this. (Not counting smash bros. That's unlimited fun man!)
3. Legend of Zelda: Four Sword Adventures: Well this is an old game, it would be bad compared to other games, but hey, its multiplayer so why not?
Graphics: 10-10 Sure, they maybe copied straight from the games, but it fits real good along with the game. Not to mention there are other custom made graphics that were not in the game.
Gameplay: 8-10 There were a few times that the answer to solve a puzzle looked pretty impossible. So it would be nice to mention some hint at the last level. Besides that the multiplayer is pretty
great! As long you have some Gameboy Advances & Cords along with them, you can access every single thing in the game. Which I couldn't since you need 2. Most of the fun only
comes when playing with friends. That's the ONLY flaw with this game. So yeah. Full Game = Multiplayer.
Story: 7-10 Ok there are a few flaws with this. First of all, I am ok with how the story was, but some things were a bit too obvious like Ganon being the Final Boss. They hint it since like around
Level 5. And the worse part is that after you beat the game, there is not much of a completion bonus. Except the multiplayer arenas (which I can't play like I said before). So yeah.
Overall: 25-30 It would have been a great game to remake on Wii U, but still it had its flaws, maybe a Completion Bonus for Single Player would be nice.
2. Super Mario Galaxy: Oh yeah, one of the best classics of all time. Its sequel was much larger, but was too annoying and felt pointless doing so. Anyways, this is a little more rewarding than #2.
Graphics: 9-10 Its like Super Mario Sunshine in Space with HD graphics man. Don't say nope about it.
Gameplay: 8-10 Not the best thing in a Mario Game, but the gravity is a little glitched. And you can die for no reason. So be careful. Most of this game's gameplay comes from Super Mario 64
& Super Mario Sunshine. So yeah. STARZ!!!
Story: 9-10 Well they did give a huge twist this time of the kidnapping. This is actually the first time in the series Mario is ACTULLY there when bowser invades. Have to admit, he really
meant it that time causing that much chaos and nearly destroying the Castle Grounds.
Overall: 26-30 The game is much longer even after you beat it 100%. As it reveals that you have to play the game ALL OVER again as Luigi. Getting 100% with him is harder & easier. Once
you do this, you unlock the final star. #121. For both Mario & Luigi. After getting this star, you get a photo of Mario or Luigi (depending on which character you used) with a
several toads and Peach or Rosalinna (Same as Mario or Luigi thing).
1. Super Smash Bros. Melee!
Graphics: 9-10 Perfectly Original and still good compared to the new games. Actullly more colorful!
Gameplay: 9-10 Some glitches are found, but people can use these to enhance gameplay like shadow link, Play as master hand, and more! This is the first game of the series to have an Adventure
Mode. Which has a lot of secret events! Like giant Kirby, Luigi instead of Mario, Falco instead of Fox (2), and more!
Story: 0-0 There is no story, so how can I grade this? Maybe If I do another category...
Completion Bonus: 10-10 There is LOTS to get from playing this game. There is a sound test for unlocking everything, about 20+ secret characters, 15+ secret stages including past stages, and more!
Overall: 29-30 This game is nearly perfect, and I have been playing since my childhood, so that maybe why I like it so much.
That's it for my 5 hour long Top 5 favorite games!
