Alright, good to know. Well I'm interested, but I'll need to see if I'd enjoy it long-term.

Well I was gifted Act of Aggression, an RTS that I had a lot of interest in because its mechanics seemed very promising...

So I started playing it one day and I only got an hour into it. The problem was, apparently either the tutorial was really, REALLY bad and uninformative, or I'm absolutely blind and miss even the most noticeable stuff on my screen. Because the menus were rather hard to navigate and I have no idea where the tutorial was, or if there even was a tutorial... some controls were explained but I felt like they were explained completely out of order. (I should note that there were no 'tutorial' campaign or option - I had to play one of the faction's campaigns and learn all the controls while playing the game. Oops.)

Well needless to say I tried one of the single player campaigns, got through the first mission nearly failing it (WHOOPS), the second mission I took it slow and did alright (nearly got my base destroyed though), and the third mission a glitch happened and my units would not move and ended up dying to an endless wave of enemies since it was an escort mission. Yeah, I ended up stopping there.

I'll probably find a way to learn how to play the game some other way, but frankly my first experience with that game sucked. I honestly felt really bad for Sir Boomalot too (a friend of mine), it wasn't cheap. :s

But lately I have been having fun with Grey Goo, an RTS that plays sort of like C&C in a way (but differs in a few aspects). It may not be $40 material but it comes really close to being $40 material, it's a pretty solid game all around. The soundtrack is amazing too (Frank Klepacki still got it. No seriously, LISTEN TO THIS!!). I would have you listen to my favorite song in the game but that would spoil the amazing feeling you get when you do hear it. :P

But yeah, Grey Goo is fantastic. Definitely get it when it goes on sale! And who knows, maybe we can fight sometime. :D

I thought pretty hard about this before posting, but my favorite game would have to be Super Paper Mario. It's pretty hard to explain why I prefer it over the others. The story is excellent, the atmosphere is excellent, the gameplay is excellent, the music is excellent, the sidequests are excellent, the puzzles are excellent, the bosses are excellent...etc, etc, etc. I have beaten this 100% (all recipes, cards, pixls, everything) twice and just beat the game more times than I can count. My few complaints would be the easiness, the shoehorned in motion controls, and possibly all the dialogue (though that's to be expected from a Paper Mario game I suppose.)

It's also my first Paper Mario game, so that may or may not explain certain things.

also I've never been a turn based battle kind of guy

Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds is definitely my favorite in the series, followed by Open Tee 2. World Invitational sits in third.

9/3/17 12:56pm EDIT: After playing Everybody's Golf (PS4) for a little while, I'll place this new game as my second favorite from the series. OoB is still my absolute fav. WI is now fourth on my list - I still prefer OT2 over that game. (Open Tee is where my roots are.)

My favorite game so far is probably The World Ends with You

Its on DS and on mobile, I played the mobile version since my older brother wouldn't let me play when I was younger, but I understand why.
You play as an introvert named Neku Sakuraba, who's main method of combat is the usage of Psychs, in the form of pins.
I recommend the mobile version (Solo Remix) since its much better than a port, they redrew visuals, expanded the soundtrack, and completely revamped the battle system, the story is one of the most interesting to me I've ever played through.

My only complaint, is that in order to evolve certain Pins to different ones, you need different types of PP for them, battle PP is the easiest, shutdown PP is the second easiest, where you just equip a deck of the pins that need Shutdown PP to evolve and leave the game alone for a few days, or change the date on your phone, if you're playing the Solo Remix, and then the cursed Mingle PP... Boy you will spend days playing Tin Pin Slammer, a minigame inside
The World Ends with You just to evolve one pin, on the DS its horrible if you have no friends to play with, since its one of the only consistent ways to get mingle PP there, but in the Solo Remix, you can waste away playing it alone. Tin Pin Slammer was a mistake.

This would have to be Heroes of M&M 3 for me. I played that game for years, and I still do occasionally. Out of the more recent games, I enjoyed Witcher 3 immensely.
