Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Sony just announced their newest PS3 exclusive, titled Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, which I guess the easiest way to describe it would be Super Smash Bros.: Playstation Edition.

Only 6 characters have been announced so far, which would be Parappa the Rapper(lol), Sly Cooper, Kratos from the God of War series, Fat Princess, Sweet Tooth from the Twisted Metal series, and Colonel Radec from the Killzone series. Rumors are the game will feature around 26 characters, all from different Playstation series, and while they haven't been announced, we can pretty much count in Cole from the inFAMOUS series, Nathan Drake from Uncharted, and Jak from Jak and Daxter, as it wouldn't be a PS All-Star cast without them.

As you can see from the video, besides the concept itself, gameplay is extremely similar to the Smash Bros. series, and you can see the characters duking it out on stages from their respective games.

More information will be coming shortly, with luck, and since I am not a console fanboy by any standards, and own and regularly play all 3 of this generation's consoles, I am very excited for this title.

I think that Sony got haxor'd by Nintendo fanboys.

Also, the concept of a 2.5D fighter is OK, but when you directly rip it off and stamp your name all over it, it's kinda... meh.

Sounds cool. Unfortunately, I only have one of the 3 consoles for this generation(should be obvious which one I have) so I won't be able to play it unless I'm at a friend's house.

Hey hey hey, don't be so quick to dismiss it as a cheap rip-off of the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Yes, I myself said it was similar, but I didn't mean it like that. 2D fighters and All-star mash-ups existed WAAAYYY before the Smash Bros. franchise (see SNK and Capcom), and saying it's a copy of the game would be like saying any new sci-fi FPS is a copy of Half-Life or Halo. Also, several reports are saying that the gameplay is very different to the Smash Bros. series in many ways.

I for one don't particularly despise people fanboying, but it does irk me somewhat, and again, I own all 3 consoles, love all 3 consoles, and will be getting this game on day one, if possible.

One of the best things about Super Smash Bros. is fighting with my favourite characters. I don't own a PS2 or PS3, so most if not all characters will be completely unknown to me. Still looks good though.










Can always hope for a Nintendo X Playstation. :D

This is as ridiculous as the Mario reference in an semi-animated show that I know.
Not that I care much since I dont have a PS3
