Platform Differences

Postby ChaosYoshi » June 17th, 2012, 10:18 am

As you may know, some systems get the same game released on them, but some of the features are either added or tweaked for that version, or sometimes one version on one platform is more buggy than the other versions of it. Examples of the above are Rayman 2 (PS1 got voice acting, but shortened levels), Okami (mainly just controls), many Sonic games, etc. So which games that are different on some platforms have you thought were superior because they got the awesome extra, did not get the bad/worthless extra, or weren't as buggy?

Any game that is on the wii, and also the DS (not 3ds) sucks. That's a given.
(the ds version sucks, not the wii)

Black Ops on the Wii actually got really close to the PS3/360 versions, and didn't suck.

Controls for Okami are much better due to the fact you can draw with the Wiimote instead of using the directional pad on the PS2. Blooming ♥♥♥♥ sucks equally on both platforms.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold got better reviews on DS than Wii. But yeah, most DS games that are also on the wii suck compared to the wii version.

After that edit, I now see what you meant, but I find it pretty stupid you're comparing a handheld to a home console.

Different gaming systems have different hardware, and must be altered accordingly. Handheld systems, especially with two screens, have a lack of space for better processors, RAM, etc. than what they have now. Then when technology improves they also improve, but consoles are made better too. Handhelds do have one thing over home consoles, and that's that they can be taken nearly anywhere.

OK, I'm putting this here since it has to do with different platforms.

I will soon ("soon" as in the next couple of months) build my new computer since I just about have all I need for the computer itself. I am very interested in getting Sonic Generations for it. However, I have heard that the PC version can get pretty buggy, especially with the later levels. Do you think I should get the PC version or save up for an HD console (XBox 360 is more on my radar) to get it along with a few other games. And because I spent all my money on the computer parts - well, some of them - I can't get this for a while.
