Finished Spirit of Justice. Overall really solid game, there's a few little things that bug me but that's to be expected. Here's my thoughts on each case:
SoJ Cases: show
Case 1: A bit long for a first case, but was pretty good. Introduced the new features for the game well and laid out the groundwork for future cases. Probably my favorite first case so far, next to maybe AJ's. They didn't even try with Paht Rohl's name though. Like, seriously? At least Pees'lubn took me a bit to figure out. Speaking of Pees'lubn, his metal transformation annoyed me at first but then it kinda grew on me, which is kinda weird because I don't really like metal music.

Case 2: Probably my favorite case in the entire game. It was really cool that Trucy got an entire case spotlight on her, and I really like Bonny and Betty's interactions with each other. The case might seem a little disconnected considering it doesn't take place in Khura'in, but I don't mind it; it's a nice break to add some variety. Mr. Reus though... I didn't get the joke until his actual name (Manov Mistree) came up, and when it dawned on me I broke for like five minutes. Literally had to put my 3DS down and simultaneously laugh and facepalm repeatedly. There's one thing I still don't get though: why did Trucy stab the coffin after she escaped in her magic act? The idea is for the audience to think she switched with Mr. Hat, right? Why would she stab him then?

Case 3: I'll be perfectly honest, this case didn't really wow me, and that was kind of disappointing since it basically centered entirely around Maya. The relationship between Tahrust and Beh'leeb was touching of course, but there really wasn't anything else that stuck out to me.

Case 4: Second favorite case in this game. It's a shortie like Case 4 in TaT, but I really enjoyed it. Mostly because it's an Athena case, not to mention Blackquill on the defense. Ohhh yeeeeah. Ahem, anyways. I really like Uendo, his different personalities are interesting and actually makes me want to see/hear an actual rakugo performance just to experience it.

Case 5: In my opinion, best ending case yet, even topping Farewell. It took some time to get rolling, but once it picked up speed it was really cool. There's a lot of good character development, particularly Armie and Rayfa, and I felt like it wrapped up everything nicely while still keeping things open for future games. Ga'ran might even top Dahlia for best villain in my opinion, though they're close.

So as it stands now, my ranks go:
SoJ > AAI2 > LvW > JFA > TaT > AA > DD/AJ > AAI1

I too have finished the game, and now my thoughts

Spoiler: show
Case 1: It was a first case. It does what it's supposed to do but nothing's particularly spectacular, like AJ's first case did. Was not fond of Pees'lubn's deep-ass voice, it was really jarring.

Case 2: Character dynamics here are A+, and the reveal that Bonny and Betty are two different people was one of the first things that AA has caught me off guard with in a while (DD never eally managed it for me) and I was happy to be back in a familiar place, if only for a bit.

Case 3: Character reveals weren't as surprising as case 2, but like case 2 I enjoyed the interactions. Also the introduction of Datz, my favourite new character. Can't complain about that, even if overall the case was just 'standard Maya case'.

Case 4: mfw blackquill cuts nahyuta's beads in half
That's basically all I have to say about this case. I'm still not sure what the point of it was, outside of giving Athena something to do and bringing Blackquill (who I still appreciate) back.

Case 5: Damnit they caught me off guard every five seconds here. Dhurke is a nice guy??? Dhurke is actually dead??? Let's not forget that of course this is a final case in which the main star is Apollo. Considering he's my favourite of the three attornies I was very happy to see him in the spotlight, although I wish they hadn't left Trucy behind and that it was those two back on the bench. I feel like this is sort of the end of Apollo's arc so it would have been more fitting with Trucy by his side. Additionally they really missed out on a chance to throw in Pursuit ~ Overtaken in the last moments. It had an Apollo focus, but it wasn't classic Apollo which would have made things just a little better.

tl;dr giving this game an apollo focus nearing the end was an excellent decision and the game was good, although I think cases could have used more defining links

i'll have to go back to the older games at some point to get a stable list of favs

It's honestly my least favorite in the series. Yeah, the final case is great, but I found the other three to be just... boring. Case 1 is probably the worst "tutorial case" of the series, Case 2 is alright but not particularly interesting, and Case 3 is probably the worst case in general of the entire series. Hard to decide with that one, though, considering case 3 of Apollo Justice.

That's not to say JFA is a bad game, it's actually quite good in my opinion. It's just, compared to the others, I didn't enjoy it as much.

But Frankziska

Who doesn't love Franzy :c

In all seriousness, I have similar feelings about TaT tbh. Case 5 is good of course, but the others... meh. Plus I'm not really a fan of Godot, imo worst prosecutor not counting Payne and Manfred.

JFA Case 2 was actually pretty intriguing for me, aside from Case 3 in the same game it's one of the few times where I actually felt pretty bad for the killer. I honestly don't think Case 1 is quite as bad of a tutorial case because it's a lot better at introducing players to the concept of "thinking outside the box" (at least better than how the first game did it). The final evidence wasn't really obscure, but it did take thinking in how to actually fit together the last piece of the puzzle.

Just wanted to pop in and show this to you guys. Basically what this is is a series of Phoenix Wright fancases based on very badly-written Phoenix Wright fanfictions. It's probably the most entertaining Ace Attorney fan-thing I've ever played.
