Most Frightening Moments in YOUR Video Gaming History

Postby CedarBranch » February 25th, 2013, 2:11 pm

What the title says.

1) As a child, I used to play, and love, the 2nd worst game in history, Bubsy 3D for the PS1. It was something I really enjoyed playing (I had no idea of the concept of what made a game good or bad). Unfortunately, something royally hindered my experience. In Level 2 (and in one of the later levels), there is an area at the back in relation to the start, in which the level's goal is high up on some floating platforms, with a telescope thingy on the ground about (maybe) a hundred feet away. What is in-between???

Look at this video [IF YOU DARE], and see what shows up at 7:01.
Open if you dare: show

What the ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥!?!?

There. Congratulations on your vomit. [/ramble]

2) The eel of Super Mario 64, when I was a kid... obviously.

3) This one is unusual: In Bomberman 64: TSA, in Warship Noah, that thing that kills you instantly (unless you hurt yourself) in the room before the fight against the "possessed space pirate guy."
I have no idea why this ♥♥♥♥ scared me. It is just a thing floating above your head. :o_O:
What's creative about that thing is that it, graphically, fully resembles the enemy's purpose. But, how does the enemy do it in the first place? Dark magic? :3

4) In Bomberman 64, when you are vaporized by the laser. (as a kid)

5) In the same game, but when you are flattened by the mine carts in the 3rd Lava stage. :3
... (as a kid)

6) Also when I was a kid: In Banjo-Kazooie, in Rusty Bucket Bay, the shark that appears at one of the level's corners. I was, afterwards, then afraid of the one found in Treasure Trove Cove.

7) Banjo-Tooie: the huge angler fish thing. (dik a sa)

8) In Q-Bert, you might be able to guess what scared me.

It was quite shocking when I first saw it. It's less scary afterwards.

Paper Mario:TTYD Black Chest Demon.
Why I got scared: show
So,I got the black key. I was hoping to find some treasure inside. Then...:<
I stopped playing the game to this day.

Minecraft: When I first heard strange noises coming out from nowhere. (Later I found out it was an ambient noise. It was coming from a small room filled with water.)

Also TriJ could you just tell me what frightened you in Bubsy? I don't dare to watch the video.

It is some kind of erratic, poorly designed electric enemy (with black eyes and a black mouth) that goes back and forth sideways very quickly (and erratically). What scared me was the noise it made, combined with how it graphically appeared (and of course, popping up out of nowhere, catching me by complete surprise.).

Am I the only one here who thinks games aren't scary?

Also Dtroid you pussy, none of those are remotely scary and there is no way a paper mario game can scare you, let alone to the point of being unable to play it

Karyete: Seriously, what is your problem? And not only that, you fail to even acknowledge you might be in some wrong here.
Karyete: Oooh it's you? Hello. Feel free to drop this right now. You're going to make yourself look like an idiot.
Karyete: We don't want to hear your opinion at this stage.
Karyete: You're not getting any apology, especially after now.
Karyete: You can stay up on your high horse, continue to twist the truth and act like an absolute child all you want. I refuse to give respect to a man who right now is picking up a dropped argument because he simply cannot fathom the idea that he might be in the wrong.
