  • My first encounter with ambiance in Minecraft.
  • That part in Super Paper Mario when you have to find Merlee, and if you stay to long Mimi in her spider form will appear. It wasn't too scary after she appeared, but before that, it was just so scary.
  • (this is when I was a toddler) Bowser's laugh in Super Mario 64 when you try to go through a locked door. I don't know why, but it was just so scary to me back then.

In Super Mario 64, when you drown. I just thought it looked so creepy and the thought of.. okay well you fall into a bottomless pit, you come out of the painting. You lose all your health, you FAINT. When you drown, you kind of, you hear his muffled screaming and his body goes limp, that's just..

Oh well you know what, also drowning in quicksand, pretty much the same reason, it's kind of a dark way to.. lose a life

I honestly wasn't really that frightened by it.

It was quite shocking when I first saw it. It's less scary afterwards.
Ive never played earthbound (shut up) but hearing about Giygas (including its origins) scared me but after a few days i was no longer scared

I was initially jolted when I saw him for the first time, but when I delved into his backstory I was thrown into a 3-year limbo.

And now I have to LP Earthbound.

Fukmi.

- The War between Teddy Bears and Squirrels in Conkers Bad Fur Day when I've been younger and watched my parents playing.
Also several horrible deaths that have been in there. Example: http://youtu.be/zs0OiIPP8NY?t=6m12s
- That ghost in Mickey Mouse Magical Mirror when I've been 6 or something.
- Luigis Mansion 1... the whole game creeped me out as child and I needed to stop playing every few minutes cause the whole atmosphere and such scared me.
- etc. I've gotten scared easily back then.

  • As a child, a few different things in Rugrats for the PS1. (I was easy to scare.)
  • Also as a child, the wooden platforms that rotate in Crash Bandicoot 1 for the PS1. Also, the animations when you get sliced in Crash games weren't easy on me. (I was, again, easy to scare.)
  • As a child, the starfish enemies in Donkey Kong 64. (I was afraid to enter any more pools of water because of those enemies.)

I was fighting one of those yesterday, but I didn't think it was scary to the point of "WTF."
There is much worse in OoT, though the room with the shadowy hand things and the blood under the wooden "X" (near the end of the Shadow Temple) did give me chills to the bones.

This. THIS.

This was the worst thing in OoT. Ever. Still chills me today. Redeads ain't got NOTHIN' on this thing. Just the concept of you getting grabbed by the hands in order to attack him was nerve-racking.

Animal Crossing at night.

There was this concept called Acres and I was scared everytime the screen turned some monster would come out at me.

Years later did I learn that a monster DOES come out at you...except it's just a friendly ol ghost.
