Well, I didn't hear about the announcement or the E3 Direct. All I heard about the latest Direct was Zelda 3DS and HOLY ♥♥♥♥ EARTHBOUND, I assumed from how Geno worded it that it was just a rumor. Alright, in that case, gamers and the video game press will obviously be following that Direct, explode over the announcements that will be made, and all is fine here.
Still, there will be no big surprises announced at E3, and that's what I meant: the fact that Nintendo does not rely on the big event, where all the eyes of the traders and the rest of the press are pointed, to carry their news will show in the stocks, or rather, the opposite.
Remember that most shareholders actually know nothing about video games, they just buy and sell depending on big news from major press outlets, which usually come from big events, not streams at home. The Direct had no effect at all on Nintendo's stock, while the Xbox One reveal, which had a whole building constructed just for the event, saw a +10% value increase in stocks. On Sony's, not Microsoft's stock, though, but that's still the effect of a big press conference. I do not think anything they'll do will affect their stocks much, the big changes will be Sony, Microsoft and other big publishers.
