I just want the game to:
- See what a GTA game is like
- Just randomly drive around
- Cure my boredom. I've been pretty bored lately.

Lol, it reminds me when I was talking to a friend of mine who plays Call of Duty. I asked him why he liked it and he replied "Umm... because." :3

yeah, CoD community is just like GTA, SimsCity (and I only hear complaints about how buggy it is and people still play it just to rage I don't get it) and other ♥♥♥♥

Wow guys (Specially you, N) stop with the stereotypes.
SimCity is not that buggy, it's a great game.

And I would acccept "because" as a valid reason for GTA V to be a good game. The game is great and deserves all that recognition.
It is nowhere near the same community as CoD either.

I have to agree with Raz; GTA fans are not nearly as annoying as the CoD army.

I'm watching Vintage Beef's LP. Looks more fun than what little I've played of GTA 4. Also the missions look fun.

GTA has actually established a decent reputation for itself too, whereas CoD immediately brings to mind ♥♥♥♥♥ ten year olds that have all apparently had sex with my mother. That reputation was what convinced me to buy GTA (not five 'cuz no system to play it, but the previous games), and it's pretty awesome. I was not at all disappointed.

Erm, I wasn't comparing the two, but okay. It just came to mind when I read Nwolf's post. Of course GTA isn't that bad, it's a pretty decent game (although I haven't really played it yet), although just because is a bit lacking reason for why it's a good game.

GTA is a great game.
See, when I started playing it the reason I liked it was due to the tiny details they put in the game such as how your clothes get wet when you enter water.

But no, what I REALLY like from the game is it's story and characters. They're written much better than I expected, plus, the story's missions are extremely fun and hilarious.

By "crazy illegal stunts", Ven doesn't mean

1. pick up an insane magical item that defies gravity
2. race around on it doing flips and tricks
3. grind on rails and do more flips and tricks
4. win the race with a lot of style points

What Ven means by "crazy illegal stunts" is

1. steal a nigga's car
2. run over some prostitutes with it
3. get out of the car and take the money from the dead prostitutes
4. evade the cops by driving over a cliff and into the ocean and get away perfectly fine

A lot of people prefer doing those kinds of crazy illegal stunts. Especially with how much satire GTA V has. There's also the fact that GTA V seems to cover a lot of ground in terms of story, gameplay, and overall design, so it has a little bit of something for everybody; which, in turn, makes for a huge and continuing fanbase with a wide diversity of players ranging from white trash adults like Trevor to regular kids like Bomberman101. GTA V has proven itself worthy of all it's crazy as hell hype. So I'm not entirely sure what you were trying to accomplish by "proudly" declaring yourself not a part of that community and then comparing it to the CoD community and "other ♥♥♥♥", Nwolf. (on a side note: having been a part of the CoD community for a while, I can say it wasn't all that bad. It has it's loud minority that everyone else uses to represent the majority, which is really kind of unfair)

tl;dr GTA V is a legitimately above average realist open world sandbox game that takes mechanics from Rockstar's previous titles and combines them into something epic, all the way from the 16 player free roam online modes from Red Dead Redemption to their approach to the driving systems they've been fine tuning over the course of the GTA series. You can also murder hoes inbetween the well-written GTA story missions. There's always time for that.
