Gaming Suggestions

Postby WickedOreo » July 25th, 2013, 5:06 am

As you might have known, I am pretty big on games. Thing is, I'm pretty big on older Nintendo consoles. I mainly play games from the NES/SNES/GBC/GBA era, and eventually, I'll run out of good titles to choose from. This is where you folks will come in.
I need suggestions on games to play on those consoles. SuYo has already bugged me enough about playing Chrono Trigger, so I spent a good hour or so livestreaming that. I was thinking of doing Livestream and record possibly all of the suggested games if you were interested, of course. Let me know, if you are interested, on what times you'd like to see me go livestream. Insanity and insomnia will ensue. :D
I know you'll say yes just to see me fail.

I'll leave it open to suggestions, but I'm a true RPGer at heart, so do let me know on titles you'd suggest. Do leave out Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Dragon Warrior/Quest Monsters, and other well-known titles because I get around with most of those titles. However, I may be inclined to do a Nuzlocke or something of that nature.

I'm not sure where I might put this, but hopefully I'm not infringing upon any rules. D:

Good SNES RPGs I've played include Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (also includes lots of Zelda-ish puzzles), EarthBound (you've probably heard of this one), and Energy Breaker (unfortunately Japan-only, but a fan translation exists. Unfortunately, the OST on Youtube does not.) I'm sure there are many more, and I'm just not thinking of them.

Opinions seem to be very divided on Secret of Mana. Lots of people both love it and hate it, and I fall into the latter category. Either way, though, I'm sure it would be the most fun to stream.

I actually haven't played Secret of Mana, but I do have a copy on my computer (I know it's hated, but I use ROMs. If I have money, I pay for the games.), and I'm playing through Earthbound as well. Not the original, but the SNES version. SoM is pretty okay so far, but it's a little difficult right now trying to buy healing items and stuff. That's probably just me being stupid, though. Earthbound is one of the most insane RPGs ever. I swear this breaks the 4th wall more times than actual dialog. But that's what makes it fun. :D

I've definitely seen Lufia around, and I think I took interest in the graphics or something. I'll go check it out, along with Energy Breaker definitely.

Oh, and Final Fantasy is out of the question for suggesting games. I have 1-6 on GBA, but remind me to actually play through some of the games without cheating. That's just FFVI and I, I think. I've already played through III and IV before.

Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, Secret of Evermore. If you can find an english patch for the first two you won't be disappointed.

Anything of the games the Extra Credits guys say is good is usually good, so yeah. This.

Also, you wouldn't have happened to play Advanced Wars have you? Because you know. ADVANCED WARRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Actually, once upon a time, when GBA games ruled the market, I saw AW on the little paper that told you good games buy. There was Fire Emblem, M&L Superstar Saga (both played and beaten), and Advance Wars. I was never a fan of that stuff, so I never touched it. Since now it dawns on me that it's similar to FE in the sense that it's a tactical RPG, I'll definitely be giving it a try.

Also, Suyo, that helped a lot. Thanks for posting that video, since now I have about 3-4 games I want to try now.
And SuYo, I have ToP already (since my friend told me he likes the series, discluding ToV), but the others I'll have to give a shot.
