1999 was when I fell in love with Bomberman 64. I lost it a few times, but I always found it again. Or bought another.
On the Easter of 2000, my mom put Bomberman 64: TSA in my basket, which I don't know how because the game released on May 28th that year, which was over a month later.
I've owned those two games since then, and I've done amazing things with them:
- I have mastered TSA for the most part. I can recover from knock-outs about as fast as in a second, which is as fast or faster than the Level 5 CPU.
I've also managed to play through an entire Story Mode file perfectly; no damage taken at all. It was a very eerie feeling just accomplishing that. Not much else happened that is as noteworthy, since me being a pro makes things too easy for pride.
I haven't played the original Bomberman 64 as much, but I still have had some awesome moments. I can make big bombs faster than shown in the end credits, so I've been able to do face-paced runs and techniques that require it, and that has helped me out of many situations. I can recover from knock-outs as quickly as the game allows, so yeah.
This is just my main experience with Bomberman games, but I'm a bit too lazy ATM to share my experiences with other games from the franchise.
