Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Another Kickstarter game, woohoo

However I must say I am also excited for this. Imagine Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, together with the Aria of Sorrow system of soul abilities, ability to craft weapons and this is the game that you get! While I've only played Aria of Sorrow for a short time and missed out on SotN, I really enjoyed my time with it. It tells a story about an Alchemist, who has some sort of crystal curse and has to go through the castle to find a cure. It's gonna be another Metroidvania with level-up systems and crawling through a gothic castle.

This is also one of the more unique kickstarters I've seen. It has a separate Achievment system, in which you have to subscribe/follow/like/make drawings/animations/whatever to earn an achievment "point". Every 5 you do, you'll unlock some things for either the backers, stretch goals or even improve already existing ones! It's a great way to interact with backers and encourage community to spread the love

The game is coming out for the Xbone, PS4 and Steam. For those wondering why WiiU/handhelds were ommited, here's the FAQ answer:
Spoiler: show
Our budget left us with two options: Build the biggest, most beautiful game we can, or make sure it runs everywhere from the start. As things stand today, we can't afford to create the two separate versions of this game that would be necessary to make it run on every console. That said, we've heard legends about a remarkable treasure hidden in the castle basement...

And to give some more background, the game is built on Unreal Engine 4, which the WiiU cannot run.

@EDIT1: Here's a comic I made for an achievment: Comic

@EDIT2: The Kickstarter has ended, with over 5.5 Million $ raised (+PayPal money) and reached many stretch goals. Some of my favourite are:
- Rouglike Dungeon Mode - Binding of Isaac mode in Bloodstained
- Boss Revenge Mode - Play as bosses, slay the good guys
- Cheat Codes (and Silly cheats achievment)
- Classic Mode
- Prequel Minigame explaining the backstory and events before Bloodstained

Welp, the Kickstarter reached some stretch goals and among those was a goal for the WiiU version to come out. Rejoice people (although I still will be getting this for the PC).

Welp, the Kickstarter is over. If you still want to back, you still can for a short while through PayPal (it's on the KS page, under "Slacker Backer" and can pledge up to the 500$ reward). There is some Backer exclusive content, mainly a weapon in the game and a boss. So back if you want, it's the last chance!
